Written for the Kataang Raid project! Well, actually, it's something I wrote about a year ago but never uploaded on here (for whatever reason), so here I go! It's like it was meant to be saved for this purpose and this purpose entirely! :D I hope you all enjoy!

The ground was shaky, and for Aang it felt like it was moving constantly under his feet even though he knew it wasn't really moving at all. The shaking was probably coming from his knees, he figured, though he couldn't be bothered to look down and check to see if that was actually it.

The door to his room creaked open. "Aang?" It was Sokka.

"Ye-" Aang's voice cracked a little and he cleared his throat before starting again, "Yeah, Sokka, what is it?"

There was a short chuckle and then a, "Nervous?" He could practically hear the smirk growing on Sokka's face, and Aang turned around slowly with a small smile.

"Terrified. Is it time?"

"Just about." Sokka grinned as Aang took a few steps closer, clasping him on the shoulder. "Take a deep breath, Aang. You're the Avatar. If you can end a war at thirteen I think you can handle getting marriednow." He paused for good measure before adding, "And I'll be there to catch you when you do end up fainting like a little girl."

"Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence, Sokka." Aang rolled his eyes a bit, and then Sokka was holding the door open for him, grin still in place.

"C'mon, Aang. Let's go get you married."

The aisles were filled with rows and rows of people, standing toe to toe and side by side as they all waited anxiously for the ceremony to start. His friends were all standing, ready and waiting to preform their part, but Aang's eyes were glued solely on the doors in the back of the temple as he stood at the altar and waited with baited breath for them to open.

And there she was-the doors swung open, and Aang felt his breath leave his body as he saw Katara standing next to her father, smiling shyly at him from under her veil. He smiled comfortingly back.

The music started up, and with it Katara took her first steps towards the rest of their lives.
