Note to requester: sorry, I just couldn't bring any romantic UsoNa around. It seems inappropriate for them to begin a relationship so soon after a funeral (no timeskips in this one, unfortunately).
Her gravestone was pale white marble, with porcelain blue veins running through the smooth surface like rivers. A single flower, slightly shriveled, lay pitifully before the carved words.
In his mind, Usopp imagined a colorful gravestone, with bright happy hues that sparkled and laughed in the sunlight (if there was any). Loud bouquets of equally offensive colors would be rustling around it, almost obscuring the entire grave.
Marble white didn't suit Kaya at all. She was delicate, and sickly, of course, but she was anything but bland or emotionless. If anything, she was bursting full of life.
"She was like a fourth sister to me." Nami had stepped up beside Usopp without him noticing. Usopp vaguely nodded and rubbed his nose. The silence stretched on as the people dressed in black (they should have worn more colors) dispersed. The funeral was over.
Nami carefully placed a hand on Usopp's shoulder as they looked down at the tombstone.
"Tomorrow, I'm bringing my paint set and adding more color. Kaya would want that." Usopp murmured.
"She would." Nami nodded, her smile trembling.
"You can help, if you want." Usopp offered, his eyes never leaving the quiet tombstone.
"I'd like that." Nami whispered.
The two stood before the small grave, a chilly autumn breeze whispering through the empty cemetery.
