The next morning Tommy was the first to wake up. His head hurt and his mouth felt like he had decided to eat his socks last night. He didn't remember much about what had happened the previous night. He remembered being pissed off that Jude was going on a date with that jackass movie star, he remembered drinking, a lot, to try and forget about Jude and what's his name. But that was about it. He didn't remember how he got home. He knew the team wouldn't let him drive while he was drunk, but who would have driven him home. As his senses started to come back to him beyond the stock of himself, he realized that there was somebody in bed with him. This is the part he hated the most after a night of getting drunk. The next day awkwardness with a one night stand. It made him feel like shit that he couldn't remember bringing a girl home last night. He sucked it up and opened his eyes, the morning sun searing his retinas, and making his headache worse. He fought back the vomit wanting to make its way up his throat and struggled to sit up.
Tommy swallowed again and looked to the girl next to him. He placed his hand on her shoulder and shook her slightly. The girl stretched and moaned, then turned to face him with a smile on her face. His heart dropped into the pit of his stomach. He had slept with Jude, not only that but he didn't remember any of it.
"Morning," Jude said as she sat up letting the sheet fall down around her waist. He mumbled out a good morning, but he just couldn't seem to take his eyes off of her well endowed chest.
"Umm. . . Jude? What happened last night?" As the words left his mouth, Tommy wanted to kick himself. The look of udder sadness that passed over Jude's face nearly killed him. He never wanted to be the one that brought that look to her face, but he knew that he couldn't help it this once. He watched as she pulled the sheet up to herself, covering up once again. Unshed tears made her eyes shine brightly. "I am so sorry Jude." He said to her as he looked around for his boxers. He finally spotted them at the foot of his bed, he grabbed them and quickly put them on.
Jude's POV
She couldn't believe it. Her heart was breaking. She had known it was a bad idea to sleep with Tommy when he was drinking, but she had also thought that he would remember at least a little bit of what had happened. Had the things he had said last night even been true? She had given him the greatest gift a girl could ever give someone, besides her heart. And he didn't even remember it. She tried to smile through her tears but she knew that at any moment she was going to start crying. She could feel the tightness in her throat and chest.
"Umm, well we slept together." She said as she stood up taking the sheet wrapped around her body with her. She needed to find her clothes and she needed to find them now. She found her panties in the corner of the room and her bra thrown over the back of a chair. She knew her jeans were in his bathroom, that meant all she needed to find was her shirt. She grabbed her jeans and pulled them on, at this point not really caring anymore if he saw her, hell they had had sex last night. Now Jude wasn't hurt, she was just down right pissed off. How dare he.
"Jude, I am so sorry. I don't want to hurt you." Tommy tried to say to her.
"Then right now don't open your mouth. I shouldn't have listened to you. I knew you were too drunk, but I listened to you and my stupid heart and had sex with you." She said in a huff as she threw things around looking for her shirt. After a couple of seconds she just got fed up with it and grabbed one of Tommy's shirts and threw it on. She placed her hands on her hips and looked at him.
"Jude,"
"Don't Tommy, I don't want to hear it. It was a mistake, a mistake that neither of us can take back now. But lets not let it ruin something that we worked so hard on for years. You're my best friend and I want it to stay that way." The lie tasted bitter in Jude's mouth but, she knew that she would rather have him as a friend then nothing at all.
"I don't want to ruin our friendship either." Tommy said simply. "Was I at least gentle with you? I didn't hurt you or anything?"
"Why would you ask that?" She replied, she couldn't help the small smile that touched her lips. That was so like Tommy, always making sure she was okay. And if she had to admit it, she hadn't been mad at him earlier but mad at herself.
Tommy pointed to something on the bed, and when Jude looked her cheeks where burning a bright red. There was a small stain from where Tommy had taken her virginity last night. So now he knew that too. "No you were amazing and gentle. Everything a girl could want in a first time." She said honestly, the last thing she needed was for Tommy to beat himself up about having hurt her.
She watched as Tommy walked over to her with a smile on his face. "Good, I couldn't live with myself if I had hurt you, in any way." He said placing his hand on her cheek and running his thumb over the apple of her cheek. It was something he had done many times before in their friendship, but this time felt like more to both of them. "How bout I go take a shower, then we go grab something to eat before practice today?" He asked. All Jude could do was nod her head. It was looking like things could just go back to normal between the two friends.
