Suffice it to say

Peanut Butter Sauce

Leo pinched the area between his eyes. It was mostly out of learned habit, as they didn't really have a nose that would have a bridge to pinch, but it did a miraculous job of conveying that, while Leo was capable of infinite patience, he was quickly running out of the will to use it.

"Mikey," he said deliberately, "Can you PLEASE turn down the tv?"

"No, I'm watching something."

"You can turn it down and still watch it."

"No way, dude. Tell Raph to turn down his music."

"Then he can't hear it over Donny."

At that moment there was a scream of "Oh SHI-!" and then what sounded like a mini thunder clap in a tin can. They waited until they heard the ringing of a thin metal disc spiraling itself to a stop. They nodded with approval.

Mikey turned up the tv.

"Seriously, Mike, I want to read my book."

"So go read it in your room."

"Yeah, that's a great idea," snapped Leo, "In the room that's between Raph AND Don AND faces you're stupid tvs. That's a great idea!"

"You don't need to get cranky"

"CRANKY!" bellowed Leo, "You think THIS is cranky? I'm just asking you to turn down the noise on you're stupid show so I can get some reading done!"

The music from Raph's room turned down a little as he poked his head out of the room. It was rare to see Leo and Mike fight. He shared an appraising look with a dirty faced Don, who was also looking out on the scene.

"Dude, you're always reading or meditating! Chill out!"

"I can't 'chill out' if all of you are going to be so damn LOUD!"

Don was surprised. They all cursed, yes, but never really at each other. Leo must be pissed…or cranky.

He disappeared into his room.

Raph stayed, wanting to see what was going to happen. It wasn't unheard of for Leo to use some choice words when the occasion called for it, but it was always amusing to watch.

"Then why are you yelling at me? Go yell at someone else!"

And Mikey must have a death wish or something.

"Oh trust me, they're next. But first –"

And suddenly the remote was out of Mike's hand and in Leo's. Mikey jumped up and tried to grab it, but Leo was the ultimate ninja. Especially when he was pissed…or cranky.

Raph blinked as Mikey tackled Leo around the middle, and the two of them started grappling around on the floor. Well…this was new.

It was at the moment when Leo had Mike flat on his back and was trying to shove his elbow into Mikey's face that Don reappeared. He walked determinably over to his brawling brothers, snatched the remote out of their hands, and planted something firmly on the top Leo's head.

Both brothers paused. Mike because now Leo had, on top of a bewildered expression, a pair of hazard orange, sound cancelling headphones. The combination of the orange and blue was mildly amusing.

For Leo, it was like the world turned off. The only thing he could hear was his own breathing. A small smile creased his face. He took the book Donnie held out for him and quietly disappeared into his room. Don helped Mike to his feet, handed him the remote, and then smacked him across the head.

He disappeared back into his lab.

Mikey went back to watching tv.

Raph turned up the music.

Secluded away in his room, a pair of earplugs stuffed into his own ears, sat Splinter.

"Kids."
