A/N- This was another tough one. I wrote three different little Christopher-centric drabbles, but every single one of them kind of came across as a giant vat of Chris-bashing, 'cause I really, really hate that guy. I'm so glad Laura is killing him off in her story (also, if you aren't following my cousin on her new, exclusively Gilmore, account, check her out. Her penname is The Reigning LauraLi). Point is, this is the least hater-ing story I could come up with for Christopher.

This Time

The first time around, he did it wrong. He thought "no" to the marriage proposal meant "I don't need anything" and he was gone.

He regrets that later, when he sees his daughter growing and becoming a young woman without him.

He tries to make up for it. He proposes to Lorelai. After all, isn't that what he's supposed to do? Marry the mother of his child to make them a family?

Except she's still not having any of it. She turns him down.

He sets out to prove her wrong, by finding Sherry, who is sweet and lovely and just exactly what his mother would want for him.

And it works. It makes Lorelai horribly jealous.

Except then it backfires. He's got another baby on the way, and for most of Sherry's pregnancy, he's just pissed off, because this wasn't how it was supposed to happen!

And then Georgia is born, and he holds her in his arms. And Christopher Hayden comes home.

This time, he vows, he'll do it right.
