"Pet Names"
"Ma-chan."
A twitch. Then an unwilling reply, "What?"
"Ma-kun," says the voice, as if Kashino Makoto, the person who has responded, didn't talk.
Sighing heavily, Kashino stops in the middle of tempering. He turns around, keeping a stoic expression on his face. "What do you want, Andou?" he asks, itching to scratch his head in frustration as soon as he realised that the teen in question is staring at him.
"Makoto," Andou Sennosuke blinks, confusion written all over his face as though he doesn't even know what he is doing. ". . . Is something the matter? You're looking kinda annoyed."
"There is," Kashino mutters to himself, brows meeting together and a frown forming his lips. With another sigh, Kashino crosses his arms on his chest, leans at the counter and asks, "Why have you been calling me?"
"Sorry?" Realisation dawns upon Andou, "Oh. I was only 'testing' on which name you'll probably respond to more."
"My family name 'Kashino' is fine," Kashino tries to prevent himself from further twitching. Seriously, what is up with Andou today?
"But, if your family comes over—" the bluenette is cut off with the male's protest, "They do not care, and so do I!"
A pregnant pause. Then silence takes over.
"Nevermind what I said," biting his lower lip, Kashino's dark-brown eyes searches for Andou's purple ones. "I have one question, though: Why do you call me 'Ma-kun'?"
"Is it important?" Andou counters, slowly approaching the male he is conversing with. He will not admit it, but teasing Kashino is pretty . . . fun. He wishes he can do it everyday but, sadly, he doesn't think humiliating Kashino and risking their friendship is worth it.
"Sorta," comes the almost inaudible reply of the blond. He pinches the bridge of his nose in order to lessen the appearing headache, and sighs loudly. And just when I thought I'd get some peace without Amano and the noisy ones around, Kashino shakes his head. Speaking of which, where is Chocolat?
"Then I'm not obliged to answer," Andou smiles pleasantly as if the response had saved him. He leans on the counter next to Kashino, turns his head on the blond's direction and says, "You know what?"
Kashino is pulled out of his reverie, blinking slowly, "What?" It seems that that particular word is their favourite word for the day.
"Pet names suits you."
