Kaname had a thing for black.

There were multiple reasons, but whenever anyone saw him in anything but that detested Night Class uniform, he'd be wearing black. Mostly shirts. Button-up, of course, for a sense of class. Ironed black pants. Black jackets. Black shoes. Even his underwear was black, though anyone who tried to look at the pureblood's underclothes would be dead before they hit the ground.

Kaname felt, first of all, that black was a noble colour, most fitting to the pureblooded lord. He picked up the pure white of his school jacket and stared at it angrily. What had possessed that idiotic headmaster, Kaien Cross, to give the Night Class, the vampires, white uniforms, and black to the humans? Was black not more fitting to the creatures of the night? White was only suited to disturbingly bright vampires like Aidou. Every time he left the dorm he felt like a spotlight or some other ridiculously bright substance. Vampires didn't like the light. They were the Night Class. Night meant black, at least in Kaname's book.

But it was too late to change the uniform now, and Kaname had soberly resigned himself to the white uniform, which affected him much more than it would have anyone else. He still hated that whenever he argued with Kiryuu, that Kiryuu, with his fangs extended and an evil glare, looked much more evil than Kaname felt he did in his white angel uniform.

Riiiiiip. Drat. When did that happen? Kaname stared at the torn shreds of white and discarded the ripped school jacket onto the floor. It was his last one after that fight with Kiryuu, and who knows how long it would take for a new one to be made? He fell back on the floor and stretched, wondering what he would wear to class now. His fingers tangled in his knee length black coat. Damn what Kaien thinks, I'll wear what I like.

Anyone who saw the Night Class leaving the dorms the next night would have noticed a suitably threatening looking Dorm Head leading the Night students to the school. It's too bad Aidou, sniggering behind him, didn't tell him he was wearing his black pyjamas accidentally. Too bad for Aidou, that is, once Kaname found out.
