Remus Lupin was trying his best to concentrate on what was going on. But this meeting had been going on for hours... He didn't know how much longer he could listen to Severus. And a certain someone had been catching his attention all night.
He couldn't stop letting his eyes run over her face... taking in every last detail. The overall heart shape of it... and her nose... and her lips. He found himself biting his own, imagining just how soft hers might be... how good they might taste.
She happened to turn her gaze right over to him... and for a moment, purple met amber. He froze, feeling the heat rise up in his cheeks as he quickly looked away.
He swallowed. A man his age... blushing. Honestly. But as he snuck a glance back, she had the faintest hint of a smile at the corners of her mouth... and he could definitely see it in her eyes before his own settled back onto the table.
His heart couldn't possibly be pounding.
Stop it.
What was he? A teenager? But before he knew it... he had looked at her again. Her hair was such a beautiful shade of pink today.
He feels a nudge to his arm and turns to look... seeing Sirius wiggling his eyebrows, a sly smirk on his face. The bloody dog had the nerve to wink at him.
Remus' brow furrowed up, as if to say he had no idea what he could possibly be talking about, and looked away. He heard the faintest giggle and looked up to see Tonks looking right at him. Another blush. Another reason for his heart to race.
"Is there a problem, Nymphadora?" Snape drawled from where he was standing, an eyebrow raised in annoyance.
Tonks silenced herself right away, but shot a glare at him for using her first name.
God, was she adorable.
Stop that!
He was far too old for her... far too poor... and worst of all, far too dangerous. What would a girl like her want with a guy like him? She was... way out of his league. And she deserved better. Much, much better.
And yet... her eyes found his again... and there was that smile. His heart fluttered at the sight of it.
...Maybe he'd ask her out.
Oh, bloody hell...
