This is my story for the Harry Potter Fanfiction Challenges. It is for Sora Snape's Gem Challenge. It is also part of my Next Generation Series.
The characters of the Harry Potter universe belong to Ms. Rowlings, and I'm borrowing them for my own imagination.
Today, Tomorrow and Forever
Fourteen-year-old Lucy Weasley sat on her sister Molly's bed in her new apartment watching her hang her clothes in the closet. "Are you sure you want to live here with Katia? Daddy would let Katia move in with us."
"I'm sure. It's time I'm out on my own. I am done with training and want to make my own way." Molly said as she continued to work.
"But you will be marrying Joshua in a couple years. You could just wait to move out until then." Lucy suggested hopefully.
"I know you are going to miss me, but you're still in school most of the year. I promise that you can come stay all night occasionally. We will have fun together still." Molly promised smiling reassuringly at her.
"But it won't be the same." Lucy said frowned.
"We are growing up. Things are bound to change. At least I didn't move all the way to Egypt or Romania like Uncle Bill and Charlie did when the graduated Hogwarts." Molly reasoned.
"That would have been horrible." Lucy gasped.
"I do have a gift for you." Molly went to her dresser and picked up a jewelry box. She carried over to Lucy and sat next to her as she handed her the box.
"What is it?" Lucy asked as she examined the box with a concentration that everyone remarked was just like her father.
"Open it, silly, and see." Molly said teasingly.
Lucy opened it to find and necklace with an orange gemstone pendant.
"The gem stone is an Amber stone. It reminded me of you. It is beautiful, but it is very soft and can be easily scratched. And I know you; you take on all these burden that weigh you down. Amber is great to lift heaviness of your burdens. Amber Gem also aligns mental and emotional bodies. Like you it is beautiful just the way it is." Molly explained.
"Thank you so much. Can you help me put it on?" Lucy asked hugging her sister.
"Of course." Molly smiled as she took the necklace and clasped it at the back of Lucy's neck. "I also want you to remember that no matter where I live, I will be here for you today, tomorrow and forever."
The End
