A/N Hey everyone. Just a quick oneshot I wrote in about 15 minutes tonight. Yes? No? Review :)

James Potter walked in to the library, his hands twitching and his heart beating. There she was. Sitting in a corner with her head buried in a book, her red hair a blanket on her shoulders. He breathed deep and tried to recall all the coaching Remus had given him. Talk about books, stay away from quiddich and above all, do NOT be an ass. This was his last chance, if she said no this time, he'd have to give up.

Well...

That probably wasn't true. He'd still ask her out whenever he got the chance.

"Well," he thought, breathing deep and glancing in Lily's direction. "Here goes nothing."

He walked briskly over to where she sat, stopping right above her. "Hey Lily. What are you reading?"

Her eyes stopped shifting over the letters in her book and briefly raised to meet James' before returning to the text. "No."

Not willing to give up before he'd even brought out the artillery, James ignored the shut down and sat down next to her.

"So, I read a good book the other day." he tried, watching Lily try to ignore him.

She snorted a laugh, not bothering to stop reading.

"I highly doubt that."

"No really, it was great, a real gripper. Didn't put it down till it was over."

She stopped reading, shutting her finger in her book to keep her place. At least I've got her attention now. Thought James, leaning back a bit in his chair.

"What was it called." Asked Lily, raising her eyebrows.

James face paled and he frantically searched around him for a book title that looked worth reading. Unfortunately, none of them did. So he picked the first one his eyes rested on.

"The Care and Keeping of Bowtruckles"

Lily rolled her eyes and returned to her book, making it obvious to James that the conversation was over.

"Um...You know...Ireland won the match last night! Did you see the flip McGreevy did at the end of the...I mean...er... Whats that book about?" James mentally kicked himself, he was completely throwing this out the window. "You know Lily," he started in one last attempt to get her attention. "We may not have a lot in common, but I think we'd make a really great couple. I mean you've got the brains...and the looks... and the popularity..And I've got the-"

"James!" Lily cut him off by standing suddenly, dropping her book on the table. Not knowing what else to do, James stood too.

She began walking toward him, a small smile playing on the corner of her lips. There she was, getting closer and closer, her face was inches from his as she leaned in to his ear, her hands uncomfortably close to his hips. Was this a dream? He could feel her warm breath on his ear as she stepped closer to his body.

"Lily what are you doing?" He asked, glancing around so make sure no one was within sight.

Suddenly he felt a tup on his pants and the sound of a metallic zipping.

"Your fly was down."

With that Lily stepped away with a smug expression, picking up her things from the table and heading for the door, leaving a still shocked James in her wake.

James opened his eyes and watched her leave, a smile creeping to his face.

"Hey Evans!" He called out, happy to see her pause and turn around. "The common room will have a great time hearing about how you couldn't keep your hands off my zipper tonight."

Her smug face rippled in disgust as she turned back around to stalk off.

James sat back down and propped his feet up on the table. Oh well, there was always tomorrow. Any anyway, this was going to make a great story tonight.

Well what do you think? Review :)
