Rating: G

Warnings: None.

Summary: A betrayal leads to someone seeing the light.

Author's note: This is in the Young Justice Animated Series universe. I'm going by a few speculations. Sara was right the series did inspire me.

Disclaimer: I own no one in this fic that you've seen before. I claim a few very minor characters.

"Guardian!" One of the young scientists yelled running into Jim Harper's office.

Jim Harper looked up from the computer screen. "What is it Dr. Lewis?"

"There's something going on down on sub level 52. Dr. Richardton saw Superboy being brought in."

"Superboy?" Harper asked standing up. As far a he had known, Superboy was settling into a new life with Young Justice. He hadn't spoken to the young clone since he had left Cadmus with the Justice League.

"Yes. Dr. Richardton said that he was unconscious and was being carried into one of the elevators."

"Get security to go down to Sublevel 52. I'm going down there now."

Superboy opened his eyes. He tried to take in his surroundings but he couldn't see anything but something told him he wasn't at Mount Justice. His arms were bound with a strong material that he could not break through. There was something very familiar about where he was.

Someone came into his line of vision and he saw it was Artemis.

"Help me," he said.

She smirked and turned away.

Something was wrong. He tried to remember what had happened before he woke up here. He remembered Robin contacting him at the Kent Farm saying something about there being a problem in Central City and that he needed to help Kid Flash. That was all he remembered.

A door hissed open and someone entered the room. He tried to see who it was but the lighting in the room was too bright.

"Our weapon has returned," a voice said. "Good work Artemis."

She nodded. "Anything for the Light."

Superboy's eyes got large at that statement. Artemis had betrayed him? They had all trusted Artemis because she came highly recommended by Green Arrow.

The person who had spoken came closer and Superboy saw the baldhead and knew who it was. He had seen him on the news and knew that he was an enemy of Superman's.

The man stepped forward and set a hand on the case that held Superboy. He said three said three simple words.

"Aut vincere aut mori."

Superboy's eyes flashed red.

Notes: I'm not sure where I'm going with this or if I'm going to continue it. I thought it would be an interesting take on some of the speculation regarding the Light.
