Quick, it's thirty minutes to New Year, Jupiter! Can you get a One Shot out in time? Can you?
No! Yes! I don't know! Maybe!
Go for it anyway! It's (very) short, and from the farthest corners of left field, but I hope you enjoy! Happy New Year!
Resolution List
Len scratched his head at the sound of a ticking clock in the background. The paper in front of him had been blank for the past thirty minutes he'd been sitting there with it. It was supposed to be a list of all the things he wanted to change about himself for the new year. But as it was, he couldn't think of anything… substantial enough. Nothing he felt was important enough to change or anything he thought mattered enough to worry about. Thirty minutes ago he sat down and tried to think of something. In another thirty minutes it would be next year. And this wasn't actually his first piece of paper- two more were crumpled up behind him that he tossed with things that everybody used- lose weight (he didn't need to), get into shape (he didn't care)- marked out.
"Aaagh." He leaned back in his chair and put his hands on the back of his head. He didn't even take this whole 'resolution list' thing seriously- his sister had told him to do it. He took it as a way of her trying to tell him something about him annoyed her, but she ran off before he could ask to her face what it was.
Time ticked by, and the clock was five minutes from midnight when Rin walked back into the room.
"It's almost tomorrow, Len," she said, "Did you get anything on your list?"
"Yup." He showed her- it was still blank. "Lots."
"Gah." She stopped across the table from him. "So what have you been doing the past hour?"
"This." He leaned back in his chair again. "You?"
"Figuring out some stuff for mine."
"Yours is all filled out, then?" He stopped leaning backward and put his chair back on all four legs.
She nodded. "Yup!" she said with a cheery voice, trying to hide the nervous tone she was imagining herself to be talking with. "Mine is all done."
"Oh really?" Len asked. "Let me see it. I want to see what you think you should change about yourself."
"Um… Alright." She took a folded piece of paper out from her back pocket. "Here!" She handed it to him, and took a half-step back.
He unfolded it, and saw it was blank. "…Um… This doesn't have anything on-"
She took two full steps forward and kissed him on his lips. When their lips finally parted, the clock in the background chimed for the hour. They were quiet and looked at each other. "…Happy new year?" she said.
He kissed her back for the next minute. "I'd say that I'm having one now."
