"So what do you have in mind?" Tron asks, back in the beginning when it's just the two of them and the brand new system.

Flynn looks sideways at him and just smirks. He raises a hand which contains nothing, and then suddenly there's a baton flying from it. Tron catches it easily.

"Lightcycles," he says, in a tone that asks of the User is that the best you could think of?

"Just watch," Flynn says, and there's a baton in his own hands, and then a bike materializes around him, white and somehow different from the ones Tron is used to. Sleeker, and more... there. He's not quite sure how to quantify the feeling.

Tron grips the baton and leans forward, materializing his own blue-white bike. He admires its quality, just as fine as Flynn's.

"Come on, program," Flynn's voice speaks into his ear, teasing and amused. "See if you can keep up."

Flynn's off like a shot, Tron following an instant behind, wondering what the User wants to show him. He isn't worried about running into the jetwall Flynn trails behind him; he's more than fast enough to react to any abrupt changes of direction that might be thrown at him.

Except that Flynn's turn on the vacant grid plain isn't abrupt.

It's gradual.

Slowing in shock, Tron stares at the curving jetwall stretching out before him.

Flynn laughs delightedly in his ear. "Surprised, program?"

"What in the name of the motherboard...?" Tron swears, still staring. Flynn laughs again and drops his jetwall, looping back in a curve toward Tron's stationary position. The User stops when he reaches the program, derezzing his bike and waiting for Tron to follow suit.

"It's a whole new world," he said, looping an arm over Tron's shoulder and gesturing expansively at the grid that stretched out before them. "More memory. Faster processor. Better graphics card."

"It's incredible," Tron says, mind reeling with the sheer potential that Flynn had created into this world.

Flynn smiles at him. "Want to help me build it?"
