Hello, everyone! :) I've been writing fan fictions for a few different things (mostly Blue Dragon) but this is my first (posted) attempt at Psychonauts (aka The Best Xbox Game Ever). I'm hoping it goes okay… I'm surprised, though, that this would be the first thing I wrote for the game, especially when the first fan fiction I ever thought up (knowing that it was fan fiction anyway) was for Psychonauts (I'm still formulating ideas, and I hope to upload that chaptered story eventually)… But life is unexpected. :P Anyway, I'll let you guys get to the story. ;) After the disclaimer, read on!

Disclaimer: I do not own Psychonauts. While I'm very much inspired by it, my mind could never conceive such brilliance. :P

The lights are warm on his face; the heat will become almost unbearable, he knows, but he's been doing this for too many years to let something like that bother him.

His little brother, however, is a young little bundle of nerves. He flashes a reassuring grin at his younger sibling, who immediately calms down. They've always been close; giving and receiving comfort in equal turns.

Razputin wonders if this will be the rest of his life - bland circus performances for people who only care about him for entertainment, strict practice routines that squander his true potential. Promising better things for his little brother and wishing that he could believe it himself.

He leaps, grabs the trapeze, twirls on it, launches into the air...

... and he uncurls, opening up his Thought Bubble that he usually uses for slowing his descent. At the moment, he simply wants to guide himself into the proper spot for a landing.

With a grin, he lets go, wanting to feel the exhilaration of the free fall.

As the wind is blowing his bits of exposed hair, he daydreams about this being the rest of his life. Cool secret agents, intriguing mysteries, heated battles, and grand adventure...

It's all that Raz could ask for.

And the best part - he can finally use both his powers and his acrobatics simultaneously, and to their fullest potential.

The sensation is simply incredible.

It's so... freeing.

If only his little brother could see him now.

He'll worry about that in due time. They'll be coming for him, looking for a little boy, but they're going to find a man. A Psychonaut. He vows to become someone worthy of his brother's admiration, and to give him that dazzling future Razputin has wished for both of them. But, his personal life is too much to think about right now, so he doesn't. The thoughts and feelings will only distract him from his goal, so he has to bottle them for now and deal with it later.

After all, he has a camp to save.

With that thought in mind, he rushes off towards what's coming next - jumps and hurdles, madmen and mayhem.

And, done! :) One of the shorter things I've written, to be sure, but I like to think that it's one of my better works. I'm very happy with it, but I'm leaving it up to all of you to decide how good it was. So, if you can, please review and let me know what you thought of it! I have a lot of different stories that I'm writing right now, so I don't know when I'll get around to uploading that chaptered story or writing another drabble/oneshot for Psychonauts again… But, I'll try not to stay away for too long. ;) Thanks for reading! :D
