Someone to Talk to
Ginny was curled up in on the steps of Hogwarts. Her face was wet from tears and her body was shaking with her heavy breathing. She could feel it when someone stood behind her, but she didn't want to turn around. Somehow she though that if she stayed still she would become one with the floor and then be unnoticed. However she felt the presence of the person sit down next to her and she sighed softly.
"Are you ok?" the person asked. It was a boy, Ginny ignored him and turned her face in the direction away from him. After a few minutes of not talking the boy put his arm around her. "I am sure it is not as bad as you think," he said soothingly.
"How could you possibly know that?" Ginny asked turning her head to look at the boy. He was a Hufflepuff, but Ginny did not know him.
"Because everything happens for a reason," he said and Ginny scoffed.
"You seriously can't believe that," Ginny said and the boy smiled.
"Maybe it helps me get through my life," the boy said logically. Ginny smiled for the first time in hours and starred at the boy. "So what's wrong?" the boy asked and Ginny shook her head.
"I just had a problem with a book I found," Ginny said making it sound so much stupider then it all really was.
"Oh, I hope you didn't go into the restricted area. They have ghosts in their books," the boy said with a shudder. Ginny went pale and nodded.
"Maybe that is where it came from," she said to herself more then to the boy.
"Do you still have it?" he asked and Ginny shook her head.
"No I hid it away," she said lamely. The boy nodded and then shrugged.
"Guest it is all ok now," he said and Ginny nodded, knowing it was not true, but having him to talk to made her feel much better. The boy stood up and held out his hand for Ginny who took it quickly and let him help her up. "SO no more crying," he added and with a quick wink left Ginny standing on the steps of Hogwarts with a big smile on her face. Maybe Hogwarts would be ok after all.
