They couldn't be together. The words hit Alex hard. She couldn't be with Mason, scratch that, they wouldn't let her be with him. All because he was a werewolf! True, Mason was a werewolf, but he was also in love. And everyone knows you'd go to the ends of the world for someone you love. But the Love and Romance Couple Council kept them apart for simple little reasons.

'

Because Mason had a temper.

They were scared he would hurt her. They were scared he would lose self-control and hit or bite her. It had happened before, though no one ever knew.

"MASON!" Alex called out.

"I don't want to talk to you!" Mason exclaimed running away and down into an alley. "Just leave me alone!"

"Mason, we have to talk this out!" Alex exclaimed following him. She could see she was making Mason angrier by the second. She could also see he was transforming, but she didn't care.

"Alex, please leave!" Mason exclaimed stopping in front of her.

"But Mason-" Alex exclaimed but it was too late. Mason's temper had gotten the best of him. He was a werewolf now. He pressed Alex against the wall.

"Mason?" Alex whispered. All the reply she got was a growl. "Mason, calm down."

But Mason wasn't there any more. "Please." Alex whispered. Mason growled again.

"I know your in there somewhere." Alex said.

Mason growled. Well I can't actually say Mason growled, because Mason wasn't there anymore. It was only a werewolf with a temper. He growled once again.

Alex has a scar on her upper right arm that nobody but her and Mason know about. She doesn't really remember what happened after that final growl, just that she woke up in the arms of a sobbing Mason.

'

Because Mason was a werewolf

They were scared he would eat her.

"The werewolf always ends up eating the human!"

Alex knew Mason was a werewolf. That's why he was perfect for her. He was wild. She was free. But they didn't know that. The Love and Romance Couple Council knew nothing of true love. What Mason and Alex had was real. It was the kind of love that you read about, but this time it was reality.

Edward and Bella had nothing on Alex and Mason.

Because it was for the best

There was no best as long as Mason and Alex were apart. They could think it was for the best, but it actually just made things worse. Mason had never been so out-of-control in his life.

Mason got angrier than he should have at tiny, little things, all because Alex wasn't his. He knew it was safer, and he knew it's what should happen, but then again he's never been so unsure in his life.

He has a large whole in his heart, that will always be waiting for Alex. Nobody, and I mean nobody, could take that spot or fill it except for Alex.

Humph! Best? more like the worst!

They made up these silly little rules and more to keep them apart. Just small little rules, but that's the thing about Alex Russo, she doesn't listen, or do, what someone wants her to. She is a rule breaker. Sometimes she regretted it and wish she had listened, wished she had actually followed the rules, but she had a feeling that loving Mason would be a rule that Alex would never mind breaking.
