Hermione Granger had returned to Hogwarts after the war so she could finished her education, at least that is what many thought. There was a bigger reason why she returned she wanted to be with Minerva McGonagall in any way she could, ever since her fifth year they had danced around emotions and obvious attraction. Well on this night she was going to do something about it, Hermione was able to walk freely through out the halls due to her being head girl. When she came to Minerva's office door she could see light coming from under the door informing her that she was still working, knocking on the door she listened for a response.
"Come in!" Hermione smiled at the permission and did what was told and went right on into the office, as she closed the door she saw Minerva sitting at her desk and looking over a stack of papers.
"I hope you don't mind me stopping by, Minerva." She could see that Minerva was busy.
"Of course, not! I always have time for you, Hermione." They had been calling each other by the others name in private since Hermione's fifth year which is when things began to change for her. "What is the problem, dear?" Minerva asked as she directed Hermione to take a seat on the couch where she soon got up and sat as well. She had felt confident on her way over but now that the woman of her affections was sitting so close to her she couldn't think, complete fear ran through out her body. What if she got rejected!
"Hermione, speak to me." The older woman was getting worried so she scooted closer if that was possible and took the young woman's hands into her own, as Hermione looked into Minerva's eyes she saw concern and something else. That something else caused her to say what she had been holding in for a long time.
"I'm in love with you and I know there as a large age difference between us but in all reality it isn't that big of a deal when it comes to this world, and I know I'm a student but technically I'm the oldest one here! I just thought you should know." She ended up whispering the last part as she pulled her hands away from Minerva's and scooted away from the older woman.
"Hermione, I don't know what to say." Her eyes showed her confusion as she looked into Hermione's now watery eyes.
"I knew this was a bad idea! It was just for the longest time whenever we are together I feel so happy, I'm never that happy not even with my friends. And when I look at you everything feels as though it is going to be alright, you make me laugh which something people wouldn't believe but you do. Your so smart and caring, not to mention very attractive. I understand your worried about the age or the fact that you don't have feelings for me in that way, I would put my money on the latter of the two which means I should go." Her ramblings didn't go unheard of by the woman as Hermione stood up and began to walk out of the office with her head hanging low. Minerva stood up with quickness that displayed her animagous traits, running to the young woman she stopped her and was sure to stand in front of her. Her hands went from holding on to Hermione's shoulders to her face, doing something she had wanted to do for a long time but just never had the courage. Slowly, Minerva let her lips touch the young woman's it didn't take long for Hermione to respond to her as she wrapped her arms around the woman and held her as close as she could. As the two found themselves a moment later sitting on the couch still kissing here and there just savoring the moment a thought came through Hermione's head, it is good to be honesty when it comes to love.
