Author's Note: It's Noex because it's been too long since I've posted something for this series.

They've been together for years. First, as best friends, then as partners. Tonight, Rex planned to change their dynamic again.

He scanned past the guests of the Nixons' Independence party. No Noah. The kitchen was empty too.

Rex found him lounging on the roof, pleased Noah still climbed up there just like Rex had shown him ages ago.

"Hey."

Noah jumped. "Hey, troublemaker. You're late."

"Nah, I'm just in time. Move over." Now that he was here, Rex lost his nerve. So it was a pleasant surprise when Noah kissed him just as the fireworks went off.
