Ron had spent months planning this.

Hours on end were spent down at the Leaky Cauldron with Harry and George, heads together as they listened to Ron fuss over every detail, however minute. Mead was consumed by the gallon and the wax of candles soon evaporated before long and Tom had to (though he might not really have wanted to) kick them out.

And now here he was.

He talked to Juniper Yearsley in the Department of Magical Transportation after okaying the idea with Professor McGonagall so many weeks before. The Floo Network didn't operate at Hogwarts unless controlled by said Department in the Ministry, therefore it was lucky he was even there in the first place.

It took little more the fifteen minutes to magic the place into perfection.

Candles were lit on every surface, her favorite flowers perfuming the air as the Beachwood fire crackled colorfully beside him.

The small lump in his pocket seemed like a boulder, he could feel it as he moved, even breathed.

It wasn't long until she was walking back from the library (Harry himself had told him she was there that night) and it was then that his heart stopped.

Goodness, he hadn't seen her in so long.

The candlelight glimmered off of her golden brown hair, sparkling like ochre diamonds. The fire made her eyes dance, though they looked at nothing but him.

"What're you-"

"Shh," he smiled, suddenly not as nervous as he had been but moments ago, "Come here."

Hermione walked steadily, wearily to where Ron stood before the fire, dropping her book bag on the overstuffed chair on the way. When she finally stopped, staring into his eyes, he took her hands with his and inhaled a large, shaky breath.

"Hermione, I've spent years bickering and fighting with you in these walls. I've shared moments that I'll never forget with you, in these walls. And I fell in love with you here, in these walls."

He kneeled then, her eyes growing as big as silver dollars as she gasped, hands shaking as he took the small velvet box from his pocket and opened it before her.

The small diamond twinkled happily where it lay, and a small tear ran down her cheek as she smiled."

"So I wanted to bond myself to you as well, in these walls."

He cleared his throat, taking the ring from it's resting place and holding it towards her finger, "Hermione Jean Granger, will you give me the honor of becoming my wife?"

She choked then, smiling through tears as she nodded, "Yes, oh God, yes."

He slid the ring on her slender finger, and she wrapped her hands around his shoulders, placing herself upon his knelt knee as she kissed him senseless.

"Thank you."

He sighed, smiling as he rested his forehead against hers.

"For what?" She laughed.

"For saying yes."

"Well I think you should apologize."

His brow furrowed as he looked at her, confused.

"For thinking I would say no in the first place."

He apologized by taking her in his arms again, and kissing her like she'd never been kissed before.

With a love as fathomless as the oceans depths and as effortless as the breeze.

They couldn't have been happier.

Author's Note: Something cute to get me through the day. Haven't written Harry Potter in a loooong time. Whoo! Reviews are love. -Delta
