Even though he was fast enough to barely be seen, the massive monster threw him to the ground with the ease of a little girl tossing her doll away. He fell back, sliding into a wall that was made of concrete. The pain was nauseating. His head spun and for a few moments, he couldn't manage to catch his breath. Heavy footsteps that shook the ground beneath him on impact steadily came closer, nearly bouncing his aching body from his position. He closed his eyes. He could already tell this was going to hurt.

Suddenly, there was a loud roar of pain, and he was swept from the ground gently.

"I got you."

He opened an eye, despite the blood that slowly started to seep through his eyelashes. He was barely able to recognize the super clone's outline. With a groan, he closed his eye again until Superboy let him down in a corner somewhere away from the fight.

"Stay here."

He did as he was told, not that he had much of a choice, and leaned back against the wall. Holding back a wince from the slight movement, he sighed and listened to the battle that continued in the distance. It felt nice to be the one being saved, for once.
