I sighed and looked at the phone. Several times I have debated on wither to call Soma or not. I reached for the phone and pulled my hand back. Soma had been so quite lately. Not talking to anyone. It worried me.

I got up and headed towards the kitchen. Grabbing some Ruffles I went back to the small living room in my apartment. I flicked the TV on and at my chips. I clicked through the channels quickly. Absolutely nothing was on.

The phone rang. I let it ring once or twice before finally picking it up.

"Hello," I said.

"Mina," Soma said on the other line.

"Soma," I said. Although I would never admit it, I was pretty mad a Soma. He stops talking to people and stops answering the phone.

"Are you busy tonight?" he said.

"No," I said. Where is he going with this? I thought.

"Want to get coffee or something? Nothing big," he said.

"Sure," I said. We quickly decided where and headed out.

The café we choose was small. It was part of a strip of touristy stores and old tourist spots. Soma was waiting there.

I sat down. "Hi."

"Hey," he said.

He sat for a minute or two. "What is up with you?" I finally asked, keeping my voice level.

"I," he started. "I'm not sure I can do this anymore," he said.

"Do what?" I asked.

"Be the Dark lord's Reincarnation," he said quietly so only I could hear. "The last cult nearly succeeded in making me The Dark Lord and nearly got you killed.

"But they didn't," I said. "Nearly! It didn't happen, it nearly happened!"

He didn't say anything. "I can't lose you," he said.

The waitress came with two cups of coffee. I stared right at Soma. Neither of us said a word.

It seemed to go on forever, which was fine with me. Althought I'd never admit, I cared about Soma more than a friend.

"Why?" I asked not taking my eyes from his.

He seemed to hesitate. I didn't say a word and I didn't take my eyes away. I didn't dare to.

"Because," he said. "No. Forget it."

"What?" I said. "Is it me?"

"No, well, maybe," he said.

"Maybe?" I said fighting to keep my voice level. "If I'm a problem please do tell me."

Then he did something I didn't expect. He leaned over the table and kissed me.

I can't say I didn't like the kiss, because I did. I was actually disappointed when we broke apart.

"Because I love you," he said.

I smiled at him. We quickly paid for our coffee. I went back to his apartment and we watched some old movies until I feel asleep on his shoulder.
