The sand siblings Temari, Gaara and Kankuro had just finished eating dinner together. They usually ate separate, and whenever they got hungry, but Temari had put her foot down, and decided that they would eat together twice a week as a family. Kankuro had gone along with it because he knew what would happen to him if he didn't, and Gaara had gone along because he had better things to do than argue about eating.

Plus, it made Temari happy. And even though Gaara had the sand to protect him, it made everyone's lives much better and in much less peril if Temari was kept happy. Gaara sighed as he ate the last thing on his plate, trying to stall still. He wasn't fond of the "family dinners" but he had even less fondness for what happened next.

"Aw great." Shukaku groaned as Gaara stood up. "I hate paperwork. It's boring, repetitive, and stupid. You're the ruler of these pitiful humans right? Make one of them do it."

Gaara used to ignore the demon inside him, or tell him to shut up, but sometimes Shukaku just understood his feelings perfectly. "Unfortunately, only I, the Kazekage, can do the paperwork I need to. But I agree." He felt a pit in his stomach as he said that. Agree with a demon? Be like him in a way? He hated even the idea, even more the fact that it was true.

"…..I hate being in you. Paperwork is boring. You were much more fun when we would just go off and slaughter every person, animal and being in sight without a thought. Can we do that instead of paperwork? I hate paperwork."

"I'm not happy about it either, believe me." Gaara pushed open the new door to his office (he had gotten angry the other day and busted the hell out of the wall, and completely demolished the door into unrecognizable pieces) and sighed unhappily at the mountains of paperwork on his desk. The Jounin who had brought it in were lucky he hadn't caught them. They would've been bloody messes on the ground if he had.

Gaara made his way to his desk, having to move a stack of paperwork off his chair to sit down. He surveyed the stacks and stacks of paperwork on his desk, and sighed with distaste. "I truly hate paperwork."

A few minutes after Gaara left the table, Temari smelled smoke coming from his office. Panicking, she raced to Gaara's office, and flung the door open.

In the middle of the room a bonfire as tall as she was burned. Gaara was simply standing there, as if mesmerized, watching the fire burn. "Gaara!" Temari cried, relieved but shocked. "What are you doing?"

Gaara turned to face her, his face its usual blank mask. "I'm doing paperwork."
