"And where do you think you'll go? You have nowhere to run, and nobody to care for you!"
I let a slow rumble escape my throat.
"You're wrong." I stated dryly. I didn't dare look back over my shoulder, for I know what awaited me if I did. I remained where I was, standing over my bed. Packing as many things that would fit into the small suitcase.
"And why is that you good for nothing brat?" The man slurred. And this is the man I call father. What an interesting word. Generally when one thinks of a father, the image of a man who would love and care for his family, do anything to please them and keep them as happy as can comes to mind, no? I wish it was the case here.
When I think of a father, I think of a man who gets all his money from payments the government gives him that comes from working peoples taxes, and then proceeds to spend it on all the alcohol he can get his grubby little hands on and expect his only daughter to buy food and pay the bills while he sits around, moping, eating, drinking and watching television all day.
There's no wonder my mother left him.
"I got a call from mum yesterday." I told him.
I could hear the pathetic excuse for a man shift his weight from one foot to the other a few times before stumbling backwards.
"Oh really? And what did that whore have to say?"
I felt myself stiffen and grinded my teeth together. I knew I shouldn't have bitten back. I knew I should have held my tongue and just walked away, but when your so called father starts to mouth your mother off right in front of you like that, would you just stand there and take it? Didn't think so. I whirled around around and glared viciously at the man before me, disgusted with the sight I was seeing.
It was your typical white trash man. A white wife beater, oh sweet irony, stained with who knows what that was ripped in a few places and was much too tight on his over grown beer gut. His hair hadn't been cut in years and was proceeding to fall out in hidious chunks. The plaid pants on his fat legs were held up by actual rope tied in a knot, that allowed his gut to hang over them. His grey eyes were glazed over and hazy so much so it was a miracle he could even see. His lips were curled into a sadistic smirk and he was wavering from side to side, as he took another swig out of the almost empty bottle of Jack Daniels. All in all. It was a nauseating sight to see.
"Don't you dare talk about her like that!" I roared at him, "No wonder she left you! You're nothing but a disgusting, repulsive, arrogant PIG of a man! Why I stayed with you all this time I have no idea!"
He stood for a moment, staring at me with his beady little eyes, before they narrowed dangerously and a feral sound errupted from his throat.
"You little bitch." He snarled. He threw the bottle he was holding to the wall and lunged at me, pinning me onto the floor beneath him, "I'll teach you a thing or two." He slurred. That sadistic, crazed look was back. And I wasn't liking it one bit.
*In Japan*
"HHEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP! I NEED HEEEEEEEEELP!" A voice shouted. People stopped and stared as a blonde blur ran down the hallways, waving his arms above his head. He ran into a room, and latched onto the leg of a black haired boy.
"Mommy! I need help!" He whined to him. Everybody in the room stared at the blonde.
"What's wrong?" A bored voice asked from above him. The blonde looked up, with tears in his eyes.
"My cousin's moving here! She'll be here in a few hours and I have nothing to give to her!" He cried.
"Why do you even need to get her anything boss?" Two voices asked from behind him. The blonde looked over to see two boys with light brown hair and matching golden eyes. They stood together back to back with an eyebrow raised each.
The blonde let go of the black haired boys leg and sat on the floor, thinking to himself.
"I don't know." He pondered. Everyone in the room stared at him.
"Why don't you get her some cake Tama-chan!" A childish voice suggested. The blonde stared at a small boy that had bright honey (LOL!) blonde coloured hair and puppy dog brown eyes. The older blonde gave him a scrutinizing look and shook his head roughly, going back to thinking. That's when his violet eyes caught sight of the small purple object in the small boys arms. A wide smile graced the boys lips.
"Say, Hunny-Senpai-"
"You're not giving Usa-Chan to her!" Honey cried, hugging the purple animal even tighter. The look of pure horror on his face could make anyone cry, if everyone in the room hadn't of turned their heads away. The taller blonde blinked.
"No no no!" He fussed, "I don't want to give her Usa-Chan! I'm going to get her a teddy bear! She's always loved teddys!" He jumped for joy and started dancing aimlessly.
Hunny went up to the dancing boy and grabbed hold of his hand, beaming a smile up at him.
"I can help you pick the perfect one! Let's go Tama-Chan!" Hunny shouted and pulled the boy out of the room. A taller boy with black hair and a blank look on his features followed in suit after them, leaving the rest of the group stunned and staring after them all.
"I think it would be best for us to go with them, just in case." The bored voice spoke up. The twins nodded and the third just sighed and followed obediantly without a single word.
*In Australia*
I sat on the stiff seat, waiting for my flight number to be called.
To think what almost happened back there. The tears welled up in my eyes.
"You look just like your mother."
He'd said.
"I wonder if you feel like her too."
I cringed at the thought. My hand unconciously went to the belt hole closest to the zip onn the left and fondled the broken fabric.
Father. The word tasted like venom in my mouth even just thinking about the horrid word. He's not fit to be a father. I clenched my hands into fists.
I can't wait to get out of here.
Thinking back now, it's a wonder I hadn't just gone with mum in the first place. I guess it was a good thing I had been taking Japanese since first grade though. I could speak the language fluently, as well as French, Italian, Chinese, Greek and Romanian. I had always been fascinated with languages, and I was currently working on my Spanish. They had all been self taught, with the help of my mother in earlier years, and I was confident going into any of these countries and being able to hold a conversation with a local. So it didn't really bother me much going to Japan, especially seeing as it was my best language, seeing as I am half Japanese.
"Flight 204 to Bunkyō, Japan is now boarding at gate 12. I reapeat, flight 204 to Bunkyō, Japan is now boarding at gate 12." A voice from above me boomed.
A light smile made its way onto my face and I grabbed my backpack and threw it over my shoulder as I walked to the desk a few meters away. I handed the lady my ticket and made my way onto the plane after she wished me a safe and happy flight, and sat down after my chucking my bag into the overhead compartment. I reclined in my chair.
This is how plane rides should be, first class baby! I'm glad my mother came from a rich family, more now than ever before.
I couldn't wait to see my mother again. It had been three years since she up and left with my brother. Me being the foolish young child, stayed with him, and I haven't had any contact with either of them since up until a few hours ago when my mother had phoned me, asking me if I wanted to come live with her and my brother. Of course not being so foolish anymore, I accepted and started packing right away as she told me she would organise my flight right away.
So now here I was. On a plane to see my family, and I couldn't wait. My eyes fluttered closed after we had taken off.
Hmm... I hope they have a dance class at the school I'm to be attending.
