Magic Words

By Rianne

He was at her door again.

His knock the one she had been waiting to hear.

Her heartbeat matching its rapid, steady rhythm.

Her forehead pressed to the wood for a calming moment before she cracked the door, keeping the safety chain in place.

She quirked a smirk at him over the chain link barrier.

Raised brow a giddy addition she could not restrain.

Oh, she knew why he was here, but she was damned if she was going to let him in so easily.

"May I help you?"

His eyes darkened, fast.

Just at the sight of her gifted him through the gap.

Her swallow under his scrutiny was slow.

No, do not give in.

Not yet.

Not even for that smile.

"Good evening, Sara."

No, not even for that low voice of his.

Not even for the memory of those lips against her skin, whispering words for her ears only.

Their secret.

The remembrance of it dancing in his eyes, probably a reflection of the replay in her own.

Her body beginning to hum at the waves of reminiscence traversing.

Hands on her skin, in her hair, tightening, stroking.

Mouth on her skin, exploring, hot.

Stomach and lower warming.

The memory of him moving unhurried and deep inside her.

It just felt so right to be close to him.

The lone object of his focus, breathless and free.

A satisfying partner.

A whole new world.

And turning the tables on him, feeling him relax under her touch, let go.

More powerful than she had ever felt.

And he had returned.

Eager for more.

Standing there in her hall, waiting.

Wondering.

She had smiled at him all week.

Waiting, wanting.

Unsure, should she ask? Invite? Seduce?

Or accept him on his own terms. Trust him to return.

And here he was, finally!

"Are you going to let me in?"

His uncertain tone snapped her attention back in the present.

Taking in the changing nuances of him.

Anxious line appearing between his brows the only sign of faltering confidence.

Quick, fix that!

She nodded, closing the door, sliding the safety chain free to allow him in, before blocking the re-opened door with her hip against the jamb.

"What's the magic word?"

He laughed, and stepped closer.

Her spine straightened so she could be eye to beautiful eye.

Her heart trembling fast.

She challenged.

And he kissed her.

His arms tight around her in a fluid swoop.

Her feet left the ground.

And pleasure rushed upwards against her natural gravity.

A gorgeous quiver inside.

Magic.
