A/N: I want to at least try and finish my old stories and wow did this one need finishing.

************************Dark Tunnel**************************

Jean held the tracker in front of her. The small blimp had not moved and they were still going the right way but…"I don't like this. It's too quiet." Jean whispered to Scott. Logan was walking a few paces ahead of them his nostrils flaring. Jean knew he could track by scent and she vague wondered what Lilac smelled like, heck she wondered what she smelled like. If she ever grew some courage one day she would ask Logan, maybe...

"Me either, there should have been some guards or something by now." Scott replied. They tunnel had turned from sewer tunnel to old stone masonry. The lights one the wall were bright enough to see the strange symbols painted here and there but not bright enough to see farther down the dark endless looking tunnel.

Logan growled. "Pipe down back there." He ordered in a hush but brisk tone. He was using every bit of his heightened senses to try and make sense of what was happening. This silence was abnormal.

Suddenly the ground began to shake, small stones falling down. A wall of thick stone raised in front of them and behind them. Gas began seeping out from the ground quickly replacing the air. Jean began to cough covering her mouth with her hands. Logan stabbed at the wall with his claws but it was several feet thick. He could cut through it but it would take time and the way the green gas was flooding into the little stone prison they didn't have time.

"Scott, blast...*cough wheeze*...it!" Jean called out her mind slipping into unconscious, her body slipping to the floor.

Scott adjusted his visor, but his blast came out weakly. There was just too much gas too quickly. Scott was next to fall. Logan looked over at the two helpless kids and let out a feral growl savagely attacking the wall. If he could just make a single opening the gas would leak out but his mind began to go numb again.

Logan passed out...

************************Back outside*****************************

Kurt watched them walk off into a tunnel that lead underground and bamfed back to the car collapsing into the back seat. His eyes were just so heavy and his body still so numb. He closed his eyes with a sign. He never sensed the danger, at least not until it was too late...

Two large robed men came out of hiding. Slowly they approached the car with a woven metal net. The net looked like it was made of woven barbed wire. Kurt's eyes were closed his breathing deep and even. God he was so tired still. He heard the slight shuffle behind him. His mind hesitated and that proved to be a mistake as the sharp net of cold metal fell over him.

"Vhat! Let me go!" Kurt shouted struggling but the two men were surprisingly strong pulling at the bottom of the net tightening it, the wire slicing into Kurt's soft flesh like little knifes. Kurt yelped and went to teleport when one of the men struck him firmly on the head cracking his skull. Nightcrawler's vision blurred dark spots danced over his eyes and then went dark.

*************************Underground room********************************

Slowly Lilac cracked her eyes open. She felt fuzzy and strange. Rubbing her eyes she sat up. Something jingled around her neck. It was a cool and smooth collar of metal. It was tight but not choking. Slowly Lilac became aware of the sickly dripping noise and the mummers of voices around her.

"H..hello?" She called out softly. The atmosphere seemed so heavy. At her stirring, lights began to brighten. The room became illuminated. Yet the dark seemed ever at its edges. Lilac was in a cage with cold thick bars. The room before her was of a tan sand stone. There were strange symbols and frightening screaming statues all around. The room had a strange medical smell like a hospital and there was the sound of beeping medical instruments.

"I see you are awake." A voice spoke from the center of the room. Lilac turned towards the sound. In the center of the room was a large seat up a set of stairs. It was intimidating. A mound of melting and putrid flesh owned the voice that had spoken. The face looked to be a man but this mountain of rotting life made Lilac's stomach twist and her body shiver.

"I finally have you, my little healer. I have spared no expense to get you." The man spoke. Lilac could just make out a few other people in dark robes around the room.

Shaking slightly, Lilac got to her feet. "Who are you?"

The flesh moved slightly, goo and pus dripping to the floor. "Names matter not. You can call me Master or God. You're going to heal me."

"What?" Lilac asked in disbelief. She did not want to touch this man.

"I was never like this. Not until that ritual went wrong. Heal me child or will you let your friends suffer?" The strange man snapped his fingers and a section of dark room was cast into light. Logan, Jean and Scott all lay in one cage. Her blue fuzzy hero, Kurt was awake and not in a cage. He was struggling gallantly, even though he was chained tightly to the stone wall.

"Lilac!" He called now that he could see her, his body straining against his bonds. They had even bound his tail in iron chains to the wall of stone.

"Kurt!" She shouted back wanting to go to him badly. He was her safe place, her comfort.

The man smirked. "Forget about him my dear. I know what you are, what you can do. I am the one who took you off that circus train. I am the one who had your mind played with, your memories and dreams stolen. I am the one who holds the life of your friends in my hands. You are mine."

"Nien! Lilac doesn't belong to you!" Kurt met her eyes for a moment before looking back. "She doesn't belong to anyone!"

"Silence him!...with pain." The command froze Lilac's heart. Two men in robes approached Kurt. One with a knife poised to cut him, the other a whip, ready to beat.

"Please don't! Please I'll do whatever you want!" Lilac begged falling to her knees. "Just please, he's my friend."

"Good girl." The men moved away and came to Lilac opening her cage. Shaking she moved towards this man.

"Lilac! Don't!" Kurt called out; he couldn't bear to see this! And if Lilac touched that guy would the bond between them be gone? Kurt suddenly felt sick for feeling so selfish.

"Promise you won't hurt my friends?" Lilac asked as she got closer and closer to the man.

"Of course my dear. Now heal me. I want to be a man again." He demanded. Lilac reached out her hand to lay it on his body, getting covered in gelatinous goo before she reached skin.

She closed her eyes and glowed slightly before pulling back. "I...I can't heal you. You are not sick or injured, it's in your DNA. You are fine." Lilac gave a slight smile.

"Fine! Fine! This isn't fine you poor excuse for a mutant. You will heal me! Fix Me!" He shouted suddenly moving with an unseen force and backhanding Lilac in the face. She tumbled down the few stairs, landing just a few feet from Kurt. She wasn't moving. Kurt's golden eyes took in the still form of the girl he had come to think of as his...soul mate and began to hiss and bear his fangs.

The mass of flesh began to stir. Lifting off the medical bed of a throne and moving down the stairs. "You…will make a lovely fur coat for my new slave." He gave Lilac a slight kick dripping pus all over her clothes. "Skin him alive."

Men approached Kurt, not the two like before but now five men in robes. All brandishing knives, all looking hungry for blood; Kurt could see their eyes now, these humans were either insane or possessed. Kurt hissed and struggled but he could not teleport with a wall attached to him.

A feral scream tore through the air. Not from Kurt but from a far cage. In an instant iron bars were know more as the Wolverine stepped into the light.

"You ain't touching him Bub, or any of the kids." Was the only thing Logan said before another savage roar tore through him; becoming the savage wolverine again. Kurt swore he only blinked a few times. There was the sound of fighting then screaming, then scent of blood filled his nose as it splattered everywhere and guts spilled with a wet splat.

Kurt opened his eyes. Wolverine was looking at him but something was wrong. Logan was not mentally all there. "Wolverine? Wolvie, ja? It's me, Kurt." Wolverine was covered in blood, like he had been baptized in it. His claws were still out as he stalked closer to Kurt. "Please Herr Logan…." Kurt closed his eyes. The wolverine breathed in and out, smelling Kurt's familiar scent. He growled in dominance before cutting the chains, freeing Kurt.

Soft noises came from the other side of the room followed by a gasp of fright. Jean and Scott had woken up. Lilac was also stirring from where she laid on the floor. Kurt wrinkled his nose, blood and guts and muck was all over her frail form.

Wolverine closed his eyes and when they opened Logan was back. "You okay kid?" He asked Kurt. Kurt nodded. "Then carry her…" He indicated Lilac with his thumb. "Have her keep her eyes close if you can."

Logan walked over to Scott and Jean. It was time to leave. Kurt watched him go. The two older teens seemed to be handling the carnage better than he was. Quickly he made his way to Lilac. "Lilac? Engel?" Kurt called softly. Her eyes began to flutter open and he put a soft hand over them. "Keep your eyes closed, ja?"

Lilac nodded softly. "Kurt? Are we…safe? I feel… so gross."

Kurt almost snorted, that was the understatement of the week. "Ja, we are safe. Logan saved us. I'm going to carry you now." He slipped one arm behind the back the other under her knees. He lifted Lilac and cradled her face to his chest. "No looking now, okay?" He asked.

"Yes, I won't look. I trust you." Lilac knew Kurt was trying to protect her from whatever scene was in front of her. Trying to keep her mind from freaking out.

"Come on you two." Logan called. He was ready to lead the group back to the car. Lilac snuggled into Kurt as he carried her on and on…

Soon the cool air of night touched her skin. Kurt went to set Lilac down when he noticed how quite she was.

"Li?" He whispered.

"She's sleeping Kurt." Jean touched her head slightly.

"Come on, let's go home." Scott said. The stars guiding one motorcycle and one car back towards the mansion.

A form shadow smirked from the shadows…

"She's safe now. Petite, Gambit hopes we meet again someday."
