There I was. All alone. My family had just died. What was I supposed to do now? How will I survive?

X-X-X

Tails had just lost his family that cold winter night. He left his charred house, crying. He never looked back, wondering what he'd do.

X-X-X

I started to find myself turning into a crybaby. I didn't want to, but every time I found myself with the bullies of the forest I wandered around in, I started crying.

X-X-X

It seemed that I was the prime target of bullies. I never got a break of being attacked. They always destroyed what I made with my own hands.

I would cry myself to sleep on a tree branch because I never really had a home. Well…I did. But then the fire that took my whole life away happened.

Never did I want to lose my family. It was all Fate's Fault.

I curled up on a tree, falling asleep on one of the tree branch.

There I awaited the next day.

X-X-X

"NO! PLEASE DON'T CRUSH IT!" I screamed. Two bulles held me back while one crushed one of my latest inventions.

"Tough luck, smart one." The bully said. He crushed it like it was nothing.

They left, laughing to themselves. I sat there crying.

I walked away from the spot they were, crying to myself.

Then I saw him.

X-X-X

I stopped a few inches away from a plane I found. My eyes stated sparkling.

"Oh Wow! I think I can make some adjustments!" I said to myself, marveling the beauty of the plane.

I headed to the plane, looking on the inside.

"It looks like it's in working order..." I said.

"HEY! What are you doing?" A voice said.

I jumped, not knowing who it was. I turned my head around to find a blue hedgehog with green eyes.

"I wasn't doing anything!" I said, jumping down from inside the plane. "I was just wondering if I could make it better, you know?" I said, fingering my screwdriver.

The blue hedgehog just stood there, staring at me.

"Well...Can I?" I asked one more time.

"It could use a tune-up, so why not? It looks like you know your way around tools!" He said.

"Really?" I said with surprise.

"Well sure!" The blue hedgehog said showing thumbs up.

"Thanks! You won't regret it!" I said. I got to work after that, tuning up the plane. Later, I figured out that it was called the Tornado.

X-X-X

I was walking to the Tornado with some of my tools when the same bullies from yesterday came up to me. They pushed me to the ground, making my things go flying.

They kicked me while I was on the ground.

"What are you going to do...?" I said. Shivers were trailing down my body.

"Nothing, just going to steal your stuff! We need it for cash!" The lead bully said.

"NO! I need those!" I said. They snatched my box out of my hands.

"What do you think you're doing?" A voice said. I looked around until I saw the same blue hedgehog from yesterday.

"Who are you?" The bully asked.

"None of your business, just give the kid his things back!" The blue hedgehog said.

"No, It's ours now!" the bully shot back.

X-X-X

After a fight, he found me.

"Well. That took long enough." The hedgehog said, dusting himself off.

I was amazed. How did one hedgehog beat 3 bullies?

"Are you OK?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. My body just hurts." I said. The hedgehog extended his hand, so I took it. He pulled me up on my two feet.

"Oh No! My things! Where are they?" I yelled, freaking out. I scrambled everywhere, trying to find them.

"They're right here." He said, handing me the box. I counted everything that's in there. Everything I took here, it was inside. I sighed.

"Thanks! You know, I never learned your name." I said.

"Oh! My name's Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog!" He said.

"My name's Miles Prower, but everyone just calls me Tails." I said, cheerfully.

"Nice to meet you, Tails!" Sonic said.

That began the day of my adventures with Sonic.
