"Ianto." The man in question leaned back and covered his eyes with his hands.
Only a few moments later. "Ianto!" He dug the heels of his hand into his eyes, rubbing them until he saw stars behind his eyelids, and sighed.
"If I don't hear anything in five seconds I'm coming down there Mr. Jones." The voice warned.
He sighed as he pulled his hands away, blinking fast and searched for his earpiece. Finally when he found his prize he quickly put it in his ear and replied calmly, "Yes, sir?"
The voice on the other end sounded relived and disappointed at the same time. "Ah, there you are. You wouldn't do a favor for me would you? Pleassee?" The last was said childishly.
Ianto rolled his eyes, even if no one could see, and smirked. "What sort of favor?"
"I'm out of your god-like coffee. Do you think you could…"
"Yes, Jack." Ianto cut him off and sighed. "I'll get you another coffee."
"Brilliant!" He could hear the grin in Jack's voice as he shook his head. Ianto stood up, straightened the papers he was going over and pushed his chair back in… This was the third day in a row Jack had been calling him up to bring him things and then sending him away. It seemed as though he didn't have legs anymore. At the coffee machine he got what he needed for his boss and slowly walked to his office, trying to figure out what he may have done wrong.
He reached the door and knocked on it lightly with his free hand. "Come on in," came the reply that sounded distracted. Jack didn't look up until Ianto came in and set the mug down, he smiled what Ianto felt was forced.
"Can't thank you enough." Jack reached out for the mug and inhaled the scent, relaxing instantly and looked up with a more genuine smile while Ianto stood there feeling awkward. He just nodded and returned the smile the best he could.
Jack frowned and took a sip of his coffee. "Ianto, are you alright?"
He raised an eyebrow, "I could ask you the same, sir. You've been cooped up in here for days now."
Jack merely waved it off. "Don't worry about me I've just been catching up on work." Ianto rolled his eyes.
"I do most of your work, what could be left for you to do besides the occasional paperwork that, I'm sure, wouldn't back up this much."
Jack set the mug down and leaned back in his chair. "I can't have you do everything for me y'know."
Ianto looked away and nodded again. "I know. I just… I thought I had done something to upset you..."
Jack shook his head and immediately replied, "There's nothing you can do to upset me." He opened his arms wide.
Ianto didn't hesitate as he quickly crossed the room and Jack pulled him into his lap. He loved this, he always felt safe in Jack's arms. Almost like there was nothing that could ever hurt them, like he could never lose him. He rested his head on Jack's shoulder as strong arms wrapped tightly around him. "Are you sure?"
Jack nodded and kissed Ianto's head by way of reply. Ianto sighed contently and nuzzled his neck.
"Y'know?" Jack looked down at him and smiled. "You can always talk to me if you think there's something wrong."
Ianto looked up and smiled a little also, "I know I can." At that Jack leaned down and kissed him softly, taking his time. Sure the sex was great… beyond great even, thought Ianto, but there was nothing like the act of just kissing his lover. He pulled back slowly and rested their foreheads together.
"Bed?" He asked with a slight smirk.
"Bed." Jack agreed, grinning whilst he unwrapped his arms from around Ianto's waist and took his hand, leading them to his bunk.
