To tell you the truth this is my first fanfic for The One and I really hope that I make it good. Constructive criticism is more than welcomed. I hope to improve my writing style.

This is character study really.

Cane Lele was confused more than anything and a widely known fact was that she hated being puzzled. At least her friends knew. But could she really say that Angus and Eros were her friends? Surely not. In fact those two were like ice cubes, not only towards her but to everyone else. Their behaviour really pissed Lele off.

Those two men had a tendency to drive her crazy. Angus and his twin brother were a mystery to her. One moment they were nice to her, the next they didn't even want to see her face. Her fist clenched and she could only hold herself back from punching the wall because Leo was there. The last thing Lele wanted was to alert the man of her distress. Leo already had his own problems; she didn't need to add her own on top of all the others. That would make her seem weak and she was tired of being a helpless little girl. She wanted to be her own person, a mature, independent woman who could take care of her own issues.

Next to her Leo was looking out the window and Lele couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking about. Perhaps of Eros. The older twin, Eros, had always had a way of making Lele get worked up over nothing and then point out the uselessness of her worries. Lele was also very tired of not being taken seriously by Eros and Angus. One of these days she would prove her worth and then they would be bound to show her some respect. She would rise up above everyone else. The young woman was determined to become 'The One'.

Most of all, Cane Lele was tired of pretending that she had no feelings for Eros or that she didn't worry about him constantly. The whole being-indifferent thing really ate at her energy and Lele wasn't sure she could keep the act up much longer. Not now that Eros was back to living in the apartment facing hers and Leo's. Not only did he come back into their lives but he also brought along all her buried feelings, the ones she was trying very hard to suppress at the moment. She'd get him back for that.

This was a promise to herself that she had to keep.

"Watch out Eros Lanson!"

Her yell startled Leo who was now giving her an odd look.

"I just said that out loud, didn't I?"

Her question was met with an affirmative nod of Leo's head and the only thing Lele could do was giggle nervously.

Lele just strikes me like that kind of person. She's bound to have a deeper side to her that people don't usually see. Hope I didn't make her too out of character. Anyway tell me what you think in a review.
