It's been a while! Thanks for all the messages. Hoping to update more frequently. :)

I don't own teen titans, other wise it would be still be on and Titans would have been different. ;)

Looking forward to hearing from you!

It had been a whole week. 7 days since she entered Richard's apartment and started to adjust. 7 days since he told her she couldn't outside, ever. She sighed. She didn't start work for another week, so there was no reason for her to go anywhere. Richard was barely in. She spent the last week trying to figure out when he had time to workout, and more importantly, time to sleep. She would stay in her room and listen until she heard that he was home safely, but by that time it was already the hour she would begin to start her day. He still had to show her how to monitor him and use his system out here. She would try to catch him but as soon as he saw her he would make an excuse and go to work. She was under direct order not to leave and she knew that he was tracking her, which meant that the one time that she tried to leave he called her seconds later demanding her to go back in.

She gave a heavy sigh and made her way to the kitchen, where she heard him stirring. He was already ready to go to work and finishing a cup of coffee.

" Good morning." She said, half heartedly.

" Morning."

" I was wondering of today we could, maybe.. Talk?"

" Sorry. Can't, I have an important meeting today. If you need anything give my secretary your name and she will put you right through to me."

" So you will be busy?" She couldn't help hide the sadness in her voice. This isn't what she was expecting her move here to be like. Their relationship was better when they were on Gotham. He frowned when her crestfallen face.

"I promise this weekend I will make it up to you. How about we go out for dinner?"

" Really, you really promise that?" Her face lit up.

" Yes, I do." He smiled at her and opened his mouth to say something but hesitated. He composed himself, grunted a goodbye and left for work.

She was once again alone. She was going to get ready, when she realized that if he had an important meeting, she might have a few moments to sneak out, and maybe then he would listen to reason.

Wayne Enterprises wasn't hard to find. It was the largest building in the city. The apartment was not far from it, and she managed to find a good coffee spot on the way. She kept waiting for him to call her and demand her to be safe, but he never did.

She walked into the lobby and right up to the desk.

" Could you point me to Richard Grayson's office please?"

The secretary didn't look up when she responded, " I am sorry Mr. Grayson isn't avalia-"

" I am Kori Anders."

This was enough to make the secretary look up, startled. " Of course, I apologize Ms. Anders. His office is the top floor, you are welcome to go in."

" Thank you." Kori didn't mean to sound short but she was ready to corner him and demand that they work together.

His office looked exactly as she expected it to. Like his old office the wall opposite the door was all window. The only furniture in his office was a couch on one side of the room and a desk and two chairs on the other. She wandered over to his desk and the decoration on his desk was a simple silver frame with a candid picture of her laughing. She never knew he had this picture, and it warmed her heart to see that even if his affection towards her must not have changed. On the other side of a desk was a picture of him, Garfield, and Victor. It looked like they were in high school and he heart felt a pang of pain. She knew that they years of him being Robin strained their friendship, but she also knew how close they still were. She made a mental note to find a way to help repair their relationship.

She waited patiently for what seemed like a few hours. She hard to door click to open and Richard walked through. When he saw her his eyes grew wide in shock, and then they turned thin with anger.

" Before you say one damn word I have been your captive for a whole week and I start work next week. I never signed up to come here and to be locked up."

He raised his eyebrows at her tone. It was quiet before he mumbled, " I'm sorry." His blue eyes pierced through her, " Kori, I-" he took a step towards her, waiting to see if his advances would be welcomed. She didn't move, but she didn't shake her head. " This last year has been, hard." He stopped talking.

" Don't do this." She said frustrated. " Don't treat me like I'm weak, don't try to protect me."

" I have to protect you." He said fiercely, matching her gaze.

" You know I'm strong." She fought back.

" I know you are, " he said and then hung his head, " but I'm not." She looked at him with a confused look. " I know what it's like to lose you because of my own stupidity. But the difference is I knew you were safe.Last year killed me, but I could survive knowing that you were protected. This time it's completely different, one mistake and I could, " his voice faltered and his head fell.

"I'm not going anywhere." She said softly. " Nothing is going to happen to me."

" Kori you don't know him, what his is capable of. I have spend the last year, trying to figure him out, but I can't."

" So let me help!" She said exasperated.

" You aren't going to give up, are you?" He asked defeated.

" Nope." She smirked and stepped closer. It was the closest that they had been in a long time.

" Kori I," his breath hitched in his throat, " I love you so much." he exhaled.

" I love you too." She said. His hand found her lower back and he brought her closer to him. He looked into her eyes as he brought his lips close to hers. His eyes searched hers, to make sure this is what she wanted. Her response was to crush her lips to his.

This felt like their first kiss, and it had been so long that it made it more intense. His lips pressed against her as he brought her closer. His urgency was intense. Normally he was more guarded, but not now. It had been too long.

After a few moments he regained his composure.

" Well that answers me other question." she giggled.

" Which was?"

" What our relationship is." She gave a smile.

" Girlfriend doesn't seem strong enough, but it will do for now. When we take down Slade, we can have that discussion." He was back to his arrogant self with a lopsided grin, even though his eyes were still guarded. Her heart fluttered.

" Well looks like we need to take this guy down." She said with a huge smile.

" Tonight I can train you." He gave a sigh and rolled his eyes. " BUT you need to go back home and be safe."

" I start work next week, and then you are going to have to let me off the leash."

He rolled his eyes, " then we will worry about that next week."

After their interaction she was more than happy to oblige him, so she went home anxiously awaiting the night.

His new hideout was a hidden room on the floor, behind a wall that she didn't even know was a door. It required a password, handprint, and an eye scan to get in.

" I already uploaded all of your information, the password is our anniversary backwards. The first one." He said with a grin.

She wasn't sure what she was expecting when she walked in, but it was more sophisticated than she anticipated. Everything was sleek black and a bright blue, matching his suit. The wall on the other side of the room was covered in monitors and the lights were dim. The brightest light came from the case holding his suit.

" You upgraded." She said impressed.

" Yeah, I can't wait to tell Bruce." He said playfully.

" He missed you. A lot. He wasn't the same." She watched him register her words.

" I missed him too." They were quiet as he logged into everything and she made notes. " The kid he's got, what's the word. Spunk?" He snorted.

" He's a great kid, a little rough on the edges, but he's got a good heart. You two have more in common than you know." She said softly.

" Maybe next time we are out there, I'll try to get to know him." he said quietly.

" He would love that," she said gently.

He went over all of the details with her. Once they got in their rhythm is was like no time had passed. Richard was still nervous about her helping but she had her determined face on and he knew she wasn't going to back down.

" I'll do a short patrol tonight." He told her after he was suited up. Her breath caught in her throat. She always found him attractive, but this new suit made himi look more masculine, He saw her expression and grinned. He walked over and kissed the top of her head. " This is a secure network, no one should even be able to hack it."

" I am fully capable of helping you with this mission." She said, facing the computers and putting her 'game face' on. He made his way out.

She tracked him for a few hours. Nothing was notable. They both enjoyed the silence as he raced through the streets and across the roof tops. He was heading in when he saw a shadow.

" You see that, on the right?" He murmured into his mouth piece. She gave a quiet response. She tracked as he followed it. She went out of the alley and tracked the fast moving figure in black down the street, it dodged right and so did he. Nightwing found himself in an alley but with no one there. He was about to leave it when he noticed an envelope addressed to him on the ground.

" Be careful." Kori whispered. Nightwing grabbed the envelope, and told her that he would meet her at home.

Richard didn't take off his mask or his suit when he walked into the room. Kori was still in front of the monitors when he came in and tore open the letter.

" Shit." he whispered, " we can't catch a damn break." he said furiously as he tossed the letter to her.

Nightwing,

How lovely for you to bring your friend here. It has been quite a year of going back and forth, hasn't it? I am so looking forward to next week. I might even have a chance to meet her? I so look forward to it.

Keep both eyes open,

Slade.
