Reasons

There were quite a few reasons taking a mission with Naruto might as well be considered, at minimum, A-Rank from the very beginning. Naruto swears it's not true. His friends made him a list.

You failed the Ninja Exam 3 times. All that Karma had to come into play at some point.

You painted the Hokage Monument in broad daylight using neon colors.

You got away with it. In a village of ninjas.

You then outsmarted the village ninja and escaped...until Iruka caught you.

You learned a S-Rank Jutsu in a few hours. This should say something.

You actually stole the Forbidden Scroll from the Hokage's office in front of him.

You got away with it. How doesn't matter. You did it.

We encountered the Demon Brothers on our first mission, after D-Ranks.

We encountered Zabuza, The Demon of the Mist on that same mission. Let me remind you, it was supposed to be C-Rank.

The Wave mission in general.

We were put in the Chunin Exams while still considered rookie Genin.

Met an (at the time) insane killing machine named Gaara.

Got to the 2nd portion of the exam. After you defeated Ibiki's mood-of-terror with a few words.

Anko was the 2nd examiner. That woman is scary.

While in the 2nd exam, in our own village, we fought Oroachimaru of the senin, and lived.

After the 2nd exam you talked Jirayia of the Senin

During the 3rd portion of the exam, you fought Neji Hyuuga- considered a powerful genius- and against all odds, won.

Also during the 3rd exam we had an invasion led by Sound and Sand.

During the invasion itself you fought the previously mention killing machine Gaara- who had gone on B-Rank missions and come back without even a scratch- and won.

During the fight with Gaara you summoned the Toad Boss while he was trying to crush the life out of you.

After the fight you managed to change Gaara's life-long view on the world with a few words and actions.

After the invasion you went on a mission to get Tsunade-sama back in the village to be 5th Hokage.

You succeeded in talking Tsunade into accepting the position when she had sworn she would never come back.

It is an accepted fact among all ninja in the village, that every mission Naruto Uzumaki goes on- not including D-Ranks- is going to have an unexpected outcome, and if you value your life, you will prepare for a mission of no less than A-Rank.
