Tears

"Blaine, tea's ready!"

As his mother called him, Blaine took a deep breath and looked at the photo of him and Kurt on his phone as he walked out of his bedroom, downstairs to the dining room, feeling sick with nerves.

Through dinner, he picked at his food, waiting for the right moment.

That moment came as they were sipping drinks after tea, engaging in the normal after dinner chit-chat: How was your day? How are the rest of the Warblers? Aunty Janice has broken her leg again.

In a lapse of conversation, Blaine took a deep breath and looked across the table at both his parents.

"Mum, Dad, I've got something to tell you;"

They were looking at him ion silence, confused, worried.

"I'm...I'm gay. I have a b-boyfriend. His name is Kurt."

They were looking at him as if they had never seen him before, as though they had no idea who he was.

Then, without warning, his mother burst into hysterical tears.

"Oh my god, oh my god, what have we done? What have we done wrong? You can't be gay, what about my grandchildren? What about us?"

Blaine stared at her, hurt. His dad got up, Blaine started to speak: WHACK!

He cried out as the fist hit him straight in the face, as he felt his nose break, blood pouring down him. "I RAISED YOU BETTER THAN THIS! I DIDN'T RAISE YOU TO BE A PUFF! I DIDN'T RAISE YOU TO BE A FAG!"

Blaine staggered backwards as tears formed in his eyes. He looked to his mum, silently pleading for her to understand, silently pleading for her to be happy for him, but no.

"GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE! YOU'RE NOT MY SON, GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! YOU'RE A DISAPPOINTMENT! GET OUT!"

Blaine staggered again as she slapped him again and again around his face, then turned on his heel and ran out of the house that he had once called home, tears and blood streaming down his face.

He fumbled with his car keys, his hands shaking so badly he could barely start the car. He drove away, still sobbing, heading for Kurt's house.

He could never go home again.
