Jacob sighed before he took a sip of his drink. He had undid his tie a long time ago and his jacket hung on the back of his chair but he hadn't been able to bring himself to leave the reception yet. He had been asked to dance numerous times by Alice but he had politely declined. No, he just wanted to sit here and watch the newly married couple dance.

Jasper led Seth across the dance floor easily. One cold hand holding onto Seth's warm one and the other resting on the middle of his back. Seth was smiling as they danced, his free hand resting on Jasper's shoulder. Who would have ever thought that Seth would have been able to dance so beautifully? Apparently they had been practicing for weeks to surprise everyone. Oh yeah, it had been a surprise.

Of course the bigger surprise was the fact that Seth, the boy who cared about others so fucking much, had forgotten everyone else the moment he had met Jasper's eyes during the ceremony. He had been lost ever since then, not once glancing in Jacob or anyone else's direction. No, Seth was so in love with Jasper that he couldn't see anyone else. But then, the same could be said for Jasper. There was so much love shining in his eyes that everyone in the room could feel it. There wasn't anyone else in the room but them.

Jacob shook his head and downed the rest of his drink. Just a few months ago he had been enough for Seth. He had been Seth's idol and… he had loved that. Being looked up to… practically worshiped. You're my number one Jake! Those had been Seth's exact words a week before he had seen Jasper. Jacob locked his eyes on Seth as Jasper spun him out and then back. Seth's feelings may have changed for him, but his hadn't for his beta. He wanted Seth safe and happy more than anything in the world.

"Be careful when you hold my boy…" Jacob mumbled under his breath.

Jacob knew Jasper had heard him because those golden eyes flickered in his direction. Their gazes locked for just a moment and time seemed to slow. Jacob tensed and he saw Jasper's hands on Seth tighten their grip just barely. He knew Jasper would take care of Seth, that nothing would happen to his beta as long as it was within Jasper's power to protect him. Finally Jacob blinked and held his hands up.

"I'm not gonna stand in your way," he whispered.

Jasper gave a nod, one so small that even Seth didn't notice, before he spun Seth away once more. Jacob stood, picked up his jacket and swung it over his shoulder. With one last glance at the happy couple he left.
