Madame Kovarian pats my back and sends me off, "The Doctor will fall, River…you're the only one who can do it.". She smiles confidently as I run off through the Gamma Forests. All my life, I dreamed of this moment. I was free, all I had to do was kill the Doctor and my life could be anything I wanted it to be.

I look back at my home for the past eighteen years, a stone cold building, built for Madame Kovarian and I. She had become like a mother to me, telling me stories of an evil man called the Doctor, and teaching me all the ways to get rid of him. Now was my time to prove myself.

I ran for an hour, through the undergrowth of the Forest, when I hear a man tramp through. I listen to see if it was the Doctor. "Amy…", the man yells out. I remember from my training that Amy was a companion of the Doctor, without any hesitation I whip out my Sonic Gun and shoot him twice.

He yells out in pain and falls. I run over to him. Damn it! Instead of the Doctor , I see a man in Centurion clothing. Another one of his companions, I couldn't remember his name. I put my Sonic Gun back in it's holster and sigh as I prepare to walk away. The man lifts his arm, "River!"

I stop. He knows my real name! "How do you know my name?" I whisper but he's already dead. I hear gentle footsteps behind me. I pull out my gun again, "Show yourself!" A woman with bright red hair walks forward. Amy, the girl from my training. She speaks in a heavy Scottish accent, "Don't shoot, River!" How did she know my real name, too. I'm about to ask, when she peers around me and asks, "Is-Is that…" She breaks down crying, and runs over to the dead Centurion. "Rory!" She whispers, "Wake up! You can't die now. Please Rory! Rory!" She shakes him until she realises he isn't going to wake up.

I feel bad for her, but I keep my hand on my gun in case the Doctor shows up. She looks up at me and her tearstained face glows in the moonlight, "Did you kill him, River?" I nod and she weeps even more, "Who was he?" She stares at me for a while as if not understanding the question, "He was a good man. A very good man…The greatest! Oh, he would've been a great father, River. If only things had turned out differently…" I feel a pang in my heart as I hear that I've killed someone's father. "You have a child?" I ask, I don't remember Madame Kovarian mentioning that in Training.

Amy chuckles sadly, "Her name is Melody. Melody Pond.", I nod as she continues, "Though I guess in the Gamma Language, it would be Song, and since the only water in the forest is the river, it wouldn't be Pond." She waits for me to figure it out. "I'm Melody Pond?", She nods and hugs me, "And that's my dad?" She nods again as we both sit there crying.

"Hello Ladies", The Doctor walks into the clearing, "Still want to kill me, River?" For some strange reason, I don't. Maybe Madame Kovarian was lying about the Doctor, she certainly lied about my parents. I shake my head. "Great!", He cheers, "Hey, why the long faces? Where's Rory?" Amy sighs sorrowfully and stands up revealing Rory's dead body. The Doctor gasps, and kneels down next to him, "Rory? Rory the Roman? Roranicus Pondicus? C'mon you can't die this way…you can't." He stands dejectedly and hugs Amy, "Why don't you go lie down in the Tardis? I'll take care of him…" Amy looks back once more at her dead husband, and chokes back tears as she runs off.

I look at the man I'm supposed to hate, "I shot him! I shot my dad! He was a good man, and now he's dead! I never got to meet him, and now I never will!" He hugs me and whispers in my ear, "You'll see him again, it's going to be okay." I stare at him, "How do you know?" He looks at me with a twinkle in his eye, "Spoilers!"
