I've been putting up with Katniss Everdeen for how long now? It feels like forever. But it's worth it if it means I get to be with Peeta. Only he doesn't seem to have eyes for anyone but her. Never mind, my eyes are pretty enough for both of us, I should think.

Suddenly Peeta walks into something and is knocked out. That damn forcefield! My poor, innocent, sweet Peeta is lying helpless on the ground. And trust Katniss not to keep her head. She's hysterical. Luckily for Peeta, someone cool and level-headed loves him. That's me. Growing up in District 4, CPR is a skill every child masters. So I push Katniss away, ready to commence CPR.

Suddenly it hits me. My lips are going to be on Peeta's lips. I don't hesitate and commence CPR immediately. It's two rescue breaths after each set of chest compressions. I figure it can't hurt to give three. I mean, he needs oxygen. So do I actually. I'm feeling light-headed and I can't believe I'm actually "kissing" Peeta. I never thought I'd actually get this close to him, not while Katniss Everdeen was around, anyway. And it's all thanks to that blessed forcefield!

Suddenly Peeta gasps and shudders. He's alive. He's well. I am so relieved. And yet, I can't bear to let go. What's the harm it can do? It'll just make for very interesting TV. Still, I don't think Peeta would appreciate it if I took advantage of him like that. Katniss has been taking advantage of him, for how long, yet he doesn't mind that. But me, he'll push away. I'm sure of it. One of the only few people who would turn down Finnick Odair. That Peeta-he's really something else.
