Hai guys! I've fallen in LOVE with Parental!Riza/Ed. I think it's the most adorable thing ever! ^^ So I decided to make my own little one-shot for Parental!Riza/Ed. Yes, I'm working on my other stories. Don't kill me! I swear I'm working on them.

The small twelve-year-old blonde alchemist had just become a dog of the military and left his hometown of Resembool. Yet, there he was sleeping on the couch of Colonel Mustang's office. The young blonde was exhausted from his train ride and lugging around his trunk.

It was then Lt. Riza Hawkeye entered the Colonel's office to see Edward's brother, Alphonse, also in the room speaking with Mustang. Alphonse turned to her, "Oh! Lt. Hawkeye! You've started to grow your hair out!"

Riza smiled, "Oh yes, I liked your friend Winry's hair and decided to grow it out."

Al's armor rang out a chuckle, "I'm sure Winry would be pleased that she had some effect on you."

"Maybe." The Lt. replied.

Mustang turned towards the boy in armor, "Well Alphonse, while your brother's asleep I could show you around."

"Oh really? Thank you Colonel! I'd love to!"

The Colonel chuckled, "Then let's go."

The two then exited the room and began their journal around the center. Riza sighed and turned to Edward sprawled out on the Colonel's couch. She smiled lightly, deciding to stay here in case the young boy awoke. She sat on the other couch across from him, sipping her coffee setting the paper work for the Colonel on the coffee table. Hawkeye then heard a small murmur from the boy, something along the lines of 'mom'.

The blonde woman gazed up at the alchemist in concern. He began to toss and turn with sweat dripping off his forehead. 'Is he having a nightmare?' When the tear slowly cascaded down the poor boy's cheek, she decided she needed to help him escape from his sorrow. Riza stood and bent down in front of him beginning to gently shake one of his shoulders, "Edward… Ed… Edward… Wake up."

His golden eye shot open, almost frightening her. She began to softly coo to him, "It's alright Edward, it was just a nightmare."

Edward sat up immediately, "Lt. Hawkeye? I-I'm so sorry!" He exclaimed while quickly wiping away any left over tears with the heels of his hands.

The blonde chuckled, "Its fine Edward. Nightmares can't be helped. Would you like to talk about it?"

Ed tilted his head slightly, "Well… It was about when we tried to bring our mother back. That thing that we created… I'm really sorry Lt. Hawkeye for disturbing you."

She smiled gently, "Nonsense, I was sitting right on the couch across from you gathering paperwork."

"Oh I see…"

"If there's anything you need Edward, you can ask me." She replied.

The blonde alchemist shrugged and scratched the back of his head, "Can you show me where my brother and I are supposed to be staying?"

"Of course I can," Riza stood and showed the alchemist out of the room to the hotel next door.

As they began to walk to the Elrics' room, Edward felt suddenly awkward and attempted start up some conversation, "So, um, you've grown you hair out? I reminds me of Winry's…"

She chuckled, "Oh and why is that? Do you harbor any feelings for her?"

"Well of course I do! She's my best friend."

Riza could only chuckle again, 'He's still such a child…'

The blonde alchemist then paused his face flushing bright pink, "Wait! D-Did you mean-? No!"

The older blonde grinned, "Here's your room Edward, you can unpack and come back once you're done."

"Um, yes ma'am, and thank you Lt." Edward replied with a nod.

"You're very welcome, Edward."

To think such a small child like him…is now a dog of the military. It honestly…makes me a little sad that such a cute kid could now be used as a human weapon…
