Remedial Math

Third Person POV

Ichigo Kurosaki leaned against a tree, his eyes closed. "Ne, Toshiro? That Arrancar was weak. Do you think the Hogyoku is losing power?"

"No." The boy rolled over to look at Ichigo, "It was an earlier one, the Hogyoku is still getting str-"

"Ichigo Kurosaki!"

"Stronger." The child prodigy narrowed his eyes, "And is that your teacher? School ended two hours ago."

"I may have had remedial math today."

"And you skipped?"

"Kurosaki Ichigo, I'm going to murder you!"

Hitsugaya sighed, "I swear, it's like being around a five year old."

Ichigo winced, "Hello, Mahina-sensei."

"Hello, Kurosaki-san." You could practically see the red aura floating around the teacher as she grinned evilly at Ichigo. Hitsugaya watched the two of them with interest, he had never really had a teacher like that before. The academy teachers were just soldiers, and he had only spent a year there. He had looked up to Issine-taicho, but he had been more of a father figure, "Who's your friend."

"Hitsugaya Toshiro." Ichigo supplied.

"Spreading your bad influence." The teacher said, "You know I'll have to contact your father."

"Yes ma'am."

Both Ichigo and Hitsugaya didn't really think Issine Kurosaki would care.

"Good." She dumped a heap of books in his lap, "Here's your homework."

Ichigo flinched, "Thanks."

She turned on her heel and stalked away, going back to her car. Hitsugaya leaned over and grabbed a book, flipping it open, frowning he said, "What's the point of learning about the names of all the past Prime Ministers. Would it not be better to learn what they did, as opposed to when they were around?"

"We learn some of what they do too."

"Really? I don't see any of that here."

"It's all in my notes at school."

"Oh." Hitsugaya flipped to another book, and started reading it. Ichigo ignored him and started working on math; the park was near empty so he figured he might as well work on his homework here. After a few minutes of silence though, he turned back to the boy, frowning. He peeked over his shoulder to see what page he was on and grinned.

'How clouds form'.

He could see why that would catch the young Taicho's interest.

Ichigo burst out laughing, "You're seriously telling me you don't know what makes clouds form?"

"Of course I do," the boy snapped, "I just couldn't find anything more interesting to read."

Ichigo snatched the book away, "Fine, how do they form?"

There was a moment of silence, then the boy answered, "Moisture gathering in the air."

"How?"

"Umm . . ." Hitsugaya seemed at a loss for words.

"Hah! You don't know! I found something that you don't know!"

"Shut up." he muttered, snatching the book back.

"You might want to read the entire section on weather, genius boy," Ichigo snickered, "I'd rather you found out how it all worked before you accidently create an ice age."
