Song: I'm already there by Lonestar
The pain that threatened Draco Malfoy right there in that moment was nothing compared to the pain he was going to inflict on that death eater scum that had him trapped within that forsaken cabin with the frost already eating away at the day light.
He managed to ignore the the not so subtle looks from the boy-couldn't-bloody- stop- being-a- hero for the better part of an hour before he growled and turned his head. Harry bloody potter had the grace to offer a small smile albeit an hesitant one because they both knew it was his fault that Draco was there with him and not with her.
"You know you didn't really-" the growl erupted caused Harry to swallow the words he was about to spill forth as Draco swung his legs over the side of his bed and levelled a glare that transcended those of his father.
"Let's get one thing straight here Potter, if you so much as tell me that I did not have to come with you I will hex your balls off; damn what that wife of yours will do to me... you have two kids already she has no more use for them" he snarled and with a small- large- sense of smugness he watched Harry furrow his brows at the threat.
"We also both know that I had to come with you because as much as Voldermort scared me, your family scares me a lot more!" Draco turned his nose up but not before Harry smirked at him; the bastard was picking up way too many Slytherin traits.
"Our family" Harry pointed out and Draco controlled himself to stop himself from tackling the bastard and throttling him. He would wait for the death eater.
"In very loose terms!" Draco drawled ready to turn back to his silent brooding but he caught the look on Harry's face and his eyes narrowed, he knew this look... it was the look that Hermione would stop because after all she was the brains of the golden trio.
"Potter" he warned causing the dark haired boy to look and smile with a impish grin. The pain Draco felt at being stuck in the arse end of the world was nothing compared to the worry that gnawed at him when he saw that look on Harry's face.
He had an idea and Draco was sure he wasn't going to like it.
"I'm sorry alright" the defeated tone was over shone but something else and Draco swallowed hard.
"Potter just what are you planning?" Draco wasn't proud of the whine that linger in the back of his throat but Harry just gave him a toothy grin and nodded to the floo network that had been hastily set up for them.
It was a one time use only and it was strongly advise against using for more than just a floo to floo head call. They had agreed it was for emergences only.
"I'm sorry ok... I'm sorry that you have to spend this time with me, despite knowing you are fond of me" Draco snorted but didn't correct the man "and I know however much my best friend loves me she doesn't really like me at this moment so" Harry dragged a hand through his hair before sighing.
"Floo her; tell her everything is ok and promise her you will be home soon" Harry ordered as he watched Draco raise his eyebrows in surprise.
"Its a one use network; once I'm done we have to take it apart and we have no idea when or even if we can get a new one out here" Draco pointed out as Harry nodded in agreement, that stupid smile never lifting from his face.
"And unless you wife has invaded my home you won't speak to her!" Draco pointed out as causing Harry to nod again, the stupid grin in place.
"Like you said we have to two kids... I've made this promise already and I have no plans to break it" the determination in his voice made Draco remember the moment he too made a promise; twice over now.
"But-"
"It's for her too Malfoy... because right now no matter how much you are hating this she is sat there waiting. It gets easier-still bloody hard- but it does get easier" Harry assured and Draco understood the unspoken meaning.
"Thank you Potter" he honestly meant that and despite their rocky start he was still happy that Harry Bloody Potter took his hand in a handshake at his second offering.
The cabin wasn't big or secure enough for much privacy but Draco didn't care as he grabbed the floo powder and crawled over to the floo. Steeling his breath and closing his eyes he had his home pictured in his mind before he threw a handful of powder into the fire place.
"Home" he commanded before there a burst of green flames and he knew his home was waiting on the other side.
With a sigh he pushed his head through the green flames and smiled when he saw his home in more ways than one.
Upon the love seat, in the glow of the afternoon sunlight, his wife held their son closely to her. Her frizzy curls tickling the four month old boy who stared up at her with stormy grey eyes.
Right there he promised with everything he ever had that he would come home.
Because there right before his eyes was his Gryffindor princess and she held a part of him there that in his mind meant a part of him was always there.
