AND ITS HEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! After so long. I did promise it earlier about two weeks ago actually but I apologize, the holidays turned out to be very busy for me and I didn't touch my laptop at all so I could never upload this chapter. And then school started again and settling in and yadda yaddda yadda. But its here now :D and yes my unofficial hiatus is over. I have prepared a few chaps in advance so I can update sooner. I'm trying to get to update again for you guys by next week. But can't promise since the work has already begun. But I'll do my best.

Otherwise. Thank you all again for being so patient and supportive. I love the reviews and comments as always :) and everytime I see a favourite and follow I light up like a candle and stare happily at my screen until someone points out I look like a moron.

I'll mention some stuff later on. For now, Enjoy!

Flashback

Takumi parked in his personal spot at the studios and stepped out to the door. He waved at the security guard who knew him well as he stepped into the elevator to take him to the President's office. He stared idly at the buttons and zoned out until a cold metallic voice informed him that he had arrived. On this floor there was only one office, the President's and a bunch of other board rooms and such for important meetings. At the large mahogany desk at the front was the President's secretary Miyazono Maria. Annoying thing she was, but she did support him and helped him get out of trouble. The biggest issue was that she was also in love with Misaki. He found this out when she had seen the two of them on one of their mini dates and she had practically thrown herself at Misaki.

Takumi had to fight tooth and nail to get Misaki back and also a solemn oath to let her borrow Misaki from time to time, to both his and Misaki's annoyance. After that though, the two had been on somewhat civil terms, and Maria went out of her way to help Misaki and Takumi. As he came up to her she gave him a sympathetic glance and nodded towards the door.

"We'll be fine don't worry" he said in response to her silent question. She smiled and nodded as he walked up to the large and grand oak doors. Taking a deep breath he put his hands on the door and pushed them open.

End Flashback

Takumi entered the room and felt the slightly chillier temperature as the air conditioning was much stronger in the President's room. He looked at the large dark oak desk that spanned a few feet behind which was a high back chair with its back to him. He shivered involuntarily due to the cold as he walked forward to the plush chair in front of the desk.

This wasn't the first time that Takumi had been to the President's office, as the leader of his band, and as the most popular group signed to Miyabigaoka he had been here to discuss important decisions regarding the band.

He took a seat before the desk and waited. He knew the president would turn when he was ready to deal with him so until them he amused himself by looking around the room. It was exactly the same as every other time he came in. The room was immaculately clean and there wasn't a speck of dust anywhere in sight.

"So…" came the deep voice that interrupted his train of thought. Takumi turned his head to look ahead. The chair had turned to reveal a thin man with silky black hair falling over his face and a very familiar smirk alighting his face.

Takumi's jaw dropped in surprise and the man in the chair chuckled at Takumi's expression.

"You… you…" Takumi stuttered in English for a second before getting out "What the hell are you doing here?"

The thin man stood up from the large chair and walked around the desk and reached out his hand to ruffle Takumi's hair. He feigned hurt as he said in a sad sounding voice "Is it so wrong for me to visit my younger brother and surprise him?"

Takumi just grumbled and caught the thin man's wrist in his own hand. He looked up to glare at the now grinning man. A pout naturally came on to his face without his consent and the thin man couldn't take how adorable it was.

He reached over and hugged Takumi "Oh you're so cute when you do that. I miss teasing you so much!"

Takumi snorted "You're such an ass Gerald."

Gerald just continued to grin as he pulled away from his younger brother. "I can see that you missed me too."

Takumi grumbled for a second before grinning back at his brother. This time he stood up and gave him a proper hug. "How've you been? It's been way too long since grandfather sent you to scold me for doing something stupid."

Gerald rolled his eyes "I am not always the messenger of bad news ok. I do visit you once in a while. If I didn't spoil my younger brother rotten, who would?"

"You mean tease your younger brother to death right? Dad spoiled me whenever he saw me too."

"When did you start talking back? I miss it when you were such a good kid and let me do whatever I wanted to you."

"You're evil…"

Gerald outright laughed at the horror on Takumi's face "This is priceless. I really need to take time out of my schedule to come bother you more often."

Takumi sobered up at that "So what does grandfather have to say about me dating Misaki?"

Gerald took in Takumi's face without saying anything.

"He wants me to break up with her doesn't he" Takumi groaned. How unoriginal.

"Well, he was contacted by your fiancé's family and they were in rage about this since you know, you've been set to marry their daughter for years now. And you never really said no…"

Takumi was about to interrupt but Gerald cut him off "That they know of. To them you had agreed just as their daughter had…"

"That controlling bastard."

Gerald said nothing to that but he observed Takumi carefully. Takumi was always more lively around him, but he never seemed to be properly bothered or annoyed by anything that his grandfather had enforced on him. And when he had started his band and gone off without grandfather's permission Gerald had been surprised to see Takumi take a stand when it seemed like he didn't care. This was the second time he had seen Takumi so flustered. Before, Takumi had never said yes to the engagement, but he had never gone up to grandfather and blatantly refuse either, now it seemed like he was about to do just that.

"You do know he's only trying to do what he thinks is best for you?"

"No, he's only doing this because he wants what's best for the Walker Corporation. He doesn't give a damn about what happens to me. The only reason he hasn't done anything to my musical endeavours is because officially I'm not known as a Walker and so he thinks that when the time comes I'll be forced to join the Walkers Corporation."

Gerald didn't negate any of what Takumi had said. He knew it was true, he had also been subject to grueling treatment in preparation of becoming the next heir of the Walker Corporation.

"Takumi…"

"Don't Takumi me, I'm not bending to his will this time. There's a reason I left. Because I found people outside who actually cared, because I had a passion that was outside the family business, and now, I've found someone I care about who despite all she's come to learn about me, doesn't care about that. I know it sounds cheesy, but I've found the one person I want to spend my life with and I will not let grandfather take that away from me."

Gerald calmly let Takumi finish his rant before smacking his brother lightly on the head. "You're an idiot."

Takumi only looked at him confused.

"I'm your older brother, I'm always on your side Takumi. If you hadn't so rudely interrupted me I would've told you that I would help you however I can."

Takumi gaped, for the second time, at his older brother. Gerald had a soft smile on his face "Usually I tell people they're stupid for thinking that teenage romance could amount to anything. Usually the two are both too immature to realize what the real world is like and they make stupid decisions that only end up hurting each other before they break apart."

Takumi listened in silence as Gerald continued. "But… I know you, you've never even shown an interest in the female population before. I almost thought you were gay for a time."

Takumi's eyes widened comically "I wah…?"

Gerald held in a laugh "Clearly that wasn't the case. And so I went and investigated Miss Ayuzawa." Gerald held up his hand as Takumi was again, trying to interrupt him "Hang on would you? I already told you I was on your side. Don't be so defensive about her. Geez you two are so perfect for each other."

Takumi blinked in surprise. "Yep I met her" Gerald confirmed.

"When?" Takumi asked in surprise.

"Two or so weeks ago actually. Tora let me know what was going on with you as a heads up since he didn't want it to be a nasty surprise and because my dearest little brother didn't think his loving and caring older brother needed to know about important things in his life."

Takumi looked ashamed at this.

"So when I found out, my first reaction was to be annoyed at you for not telling me. I would've taken a plane to Japan to smack you for not telling me if it weren't for the fact that I had work to do. So by the time I had calmed down I decided I needed to test Miss Ayuzawa to see if she was worth grandfather's displeasure. I caught her after a recording by getting Kuuga to find out from his girlfriend. I took her to dinner and got to know her a bit and then determined that she was perfect and that you had made the right choice and long story short I set up this meeting as soon as you two went public to tell you that I approve and that if you hurt her… I'm on her side."

Takumi stared at his brother expressionlessly trying to sort out how this could have happened. Misaki hadn't even let slip that Gerald had stopped by. Granted she was stressed with the cultural festival at the time but that would mean she would have more things to discuss with him, but somehow she had kept this completely hidden.

"So what do you think?" Gerald asked with a slightly amused expression on his face as he watched his brother piecing together all this information.

"You are so sneaky…" Gerald smirked at this "But, I'm glad to have you on my side. This would be so much harder if you didn't accept this."

"Oh dad is on your side too by the way."

"Dad?"

"Oh you know how he is. The total romantic at heart. He had tears in his eyes and was spouting nonsense about how proud of you he was and how you were finally growing up. All the sentimental things he usually gushes about."

Takumi chuckled "That so sounds like him. How's he doing anyways? I wish I kept in contact with him more often that I do, but its always hard thinking about calling back home."

Gerald patted Takumi's shoulder comfortingly, "Don't worry, he gets all the news from me, and I get all my news from Tora and Kuuga. Oh all the embarrassing stories they told me of you courting Miss Ayuzawa, priceless."

Takumi blushed slightly "Shut up Gerald." Under his breath he muttered "I'm going to kill those two."

Gerald let out a hearty laugh before sobering up. "So… what shall we do next?" he asked Takumi.

Takumi looked thoughtful for a moment, "First things first, I need to go apologize to whatever family it is and tell them that I was never in favour of this engagement, which is why I left the Walker household in the first place and took my last name to be Usui."

"They will be incredibly upset about this."

"Yes, but I'm not going to marry some spoiled little daddy's girl that I've never even met."

"Of course. But we will need to compensate them somehow. They were about to be married into one of the greatest companies in the world."

"That… I don't know how to do."

Gerald placed his chin in his palm and his arm rested on his other arm as he crossed it across his chest. His eyebrows furrowed in concentration as he thought about how to fix this problem.

"Well…" he started after a moment, "You could always suggest another rich family that we know to become engaged to instead. I have a few friends of my own that I can suggest."

"I don't know Gerald, the only one I know is Tora, and I would never subject him to that. Kuuga is already dating Sakura, Hinata is dating Suzuna and Kanou is almost dating Shizuko."

"Hmm. Well give me some time to work it out and see what I can do. I'll plan a meeting between you and the other family and send you tickets. Actually, as a recompense, why don't you offer the girl tickets to your concert or something. She's still a teenage girl, she might like it."

Takumi rolled his eyes "That would work out great, 'Sorry I'm breaking off the already null engagement with you, oh but would you like to come to my concert?' can you imagine their reaction."

Gerald shrugged, he had a strange look in his eyes "It does seem strange but who knows."

Takumi narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing his brother's face trying to figure out what he was thinking of. It was of no use. Gerald was even better at hiding his emotions than Takumi ever was and all he got was that Gerald had some strange idea he was dwelling on.

"Alright Gerald, lets do this. And uh, for the record. Thanks. I'm really lucky I got such a great older brother."

Gerald's face lit up at praise from Takumi and reached forward and smothered him in a hug. He really did love his younger brother too much and spoiled him rotten.

Hehehe surprised you there didn't I? No body expected Gerald, and no one expected him to be a good guy! So I've changed Takumi's past quite a bit. It will be explained shortly, probably within the next few chapters actually so it'll make more sense why they're on such good terms.

READ IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT WHY GERALD IS THE WAY HE IS (MY REASONING AT LEAST)

Honestly I liked Gerald even in the manga and I felt like he was given a bad rep, when a lot of the times, all he was doing was following instructions. And growing up without his mum and learning that Takumi was the reason his mum was dead is pretty damn tough on a little kid. So I wanted to paint him in a different light. What if Gerald had been taught to take care of his little brother because mommy had told him or something like that. So I wanted to play on a possible scenario so that the two could become loving brothers instead and because honestly I felt like this is a little more realistic. Every little kid grows up and wants a sibling. Being told by his mum about a little brother would make little Gerald super excited and even more caring and protective about his sibling. I've seen kids do it, even families where a parent has died. So ya, and partially because I wanted to play around with a bit more XD.

So yes, one other thing. I am intending to finish JD soon. I say soon but it'll still be a ton of chapters (knowing me and my super slow way of writing) hope ya'll don't mind that and enjoy it to the very end :).

LASTLY!

I AM TAKING REQUESTS! YES YOU HEARD (OR READ) ME RIGHT! so on my side story called Just Another Day, I wanna make random one shots or mini stories, either from JD, TOE or whatever ideas. If you have something you want me to write, or have a moment, cute date or something more specific, please pm me or review and I will do my best to write the story for you :)

Sorry for the super long author's note hope you all enjoyed the chapter at least, and see you soon on the next one :)
