This is AU, and everyone will probably be at least a little OOC.

I am also changing the age differences between everyone, I am sorry if any of that offends you.

I do not own Criminal Minds.

Constructive criticism is welcome.

Sometimes life sucked, for Spencer Reid this was one of those times.

Being involuntarily committed into a psychiatric hospital was not a good way to end a Monday.

It wasn't a good way to end any day.

There was no reason why he should have to be locked up, it wasn't like he actually would have carried out on his threat to eviscerate his fellow classmates.

That would have been way too messy.

Spencer really could not understand why his father felt it necessary to institutionalize him.

His reaction to the imbecile that tried to bully him was beyond understandable.

if the Neanderthal had been intelligent enough to realize just how stupid he sounded every time he opened his mouth, he would have been angry too.

When people get angry they lash out, a perfectly acceptable human reaction.

It wasn't his fault the moron couldn't take it, but he was the one paying for it.

Now he was indefinitely stuck in a loony bin.

Until they 'fixed' him.

Surveying the group in front of him Spencer concluded that it was probably a lost cause, they seemed far more messed up than he was.

David Rossi doesn't bet on what is wrong with the new people anymore, mostly because he doesn't care in the least, and a little bit because he might be wrong.

Everyone else seems more than happy to guess what kind of crazy the new kid is, and to speculate about the tragic and mysterious past he must have.

Drama queens.

Sometimes (most of the time) David is sure that a few in their group were dropped as children, because there is no way that the skinny kid with the glasses that Elle is dragging over to them has some deep dark secret.

Unless he is secretly a mass murderer. (Possible)

"Everyone, this is Spencer. I know that you are all going to make him feel welcome."

The way she was glaring at them (Derek) let David know that she was being serious.

"Spencer, these are a few of our other patients. I know that you all are going to get along amazingly."

Emily likes meeting new people, they are usually pretty interesting at first.

She likes watching them, trying to guess what is wrong with them before they tell her.

It is a lot more fun than talking to Amanda about her newest boyfriend who doesn't actually exist.

JJ and Penelope can usually be counted on to help her establish a nice little back story on any newcomer, and Ashley and Jordan are good with all the dramatic events that a fictional life would be incomplete without.

"Everyone, this is Spencer. I know that you are all going to make him feel welcome."

Elle is glaring at Derek, probably because he doesn't ever make an effort to make anyone feel 'welcome'.

Except Penelope, but that's expected because she's pretty awesome.

"Spencer, these are a few of our other patients. I know that you all are going to get along amazingly."

Elle must like Spencer already, because she has never come over to introduce a new kid to them before.

Everyone knows that their group is Elle's favorite by far.

Even if she won't admit it.
