It was a very late night for Tony. He was still in the hospital, and the doctor, Kate's sister had been long gone. He lay in his bed and stared at the glowing ceiling that reflected the light from downtown D.C. Tony sighed and winced, his forehead burned from the cut right underneath his hairline.

Tony rolled over carefully to see the clock at his bedside. It was almost four in the morning. He wasn't very tired at all. He was still a bit confused, and there were so many questions still unanswered. Then there was a quiet knocking at his door.

"Come in." Tony whispered. The door quietly opened letting in just a bit of light into the dimly lit room. Tony could make out a female figure. The light scent of fruit and Shea butter filled the air. Tony grinned. He knew exactly who the mysterious shadow was.

"Hello Tony." She whispered closing the door, the room was back to being very dark. Tony smiled.

"Hi Ziva." Tony whispered back, sitting up in his bed. He swung his legs over the side and closed his blue robe, being careful not to reveal too much.

"How are you feeling?" Ziva asked walking over to his bedside. Tony shrugged and sighed.

"I'm still so confused." Tony replied and patted the empty spot on his bed right next to him. Ziva walked over, heels clicking on the tile floor and she sat down next to him. It was too dark to make out all of his emotions, but Tony seemed a bit happier, or even relieved.

"It'll be okay." Ziva patted Tony's bare thigh and sent chills up him and his skin prickled from the heat her hand gave off. Ziva noticed and let out a small giggle.

"Well- you said you wanted time alone with me." Tony looked at Ziva. Her eyes glistened in the dark room. She cracked a smile.

"That is why I am here." Ziva replied.

"Why are you here exactly?" Tony dangled his feet over the side of the bed and looked down at the floor. Ziva brought her legs up onto the foot of the bed and held them with her one hand.

"For you. I'm here for you Tony." Ziva looked at Tony who was getting a bit nervous for some reason. He brought his legs up onto the bed slowly and stretched them out by Ziva.

"Thank you." Tony's voice cracked as if he was about to cry. His emotions were crazy, but he really meant it. He needed a friend right now and Ziva was willing to give him that.

"Zee?" Tony broke the silence in the room. Ziva put her hand on his lower calf and patted it gently.

"Yes?" Ziva asked looking back up at Tony who was leaning back up against his pillow closing his eyes.

"Don't leave me." Tony pleaded. "Please don't go."

Tony looked as if he was about to fall asleep at any moment. Ziva bit her bottom lip and her eyes glistened with emotion. Tony could see she was fighting hard for certain words not to come out.

"Then what do you suggest I do?" Ziva asked looking at the time.

"Since we are partners, maybe, you can stay here with me?" Tony asked moving over to one side of the bed more. He gently patted the empty half of the bed next to him.

"Stay here? In your bed? Now?" Ziva asked as she unbuttoned her jacket, took it off, and threw it on the floor. She started unzipping her boots and throwing them down with her coat. Tony smiled.

"Please Ziva?" Tony didn't have to ask twice. Ziva crawled up next to Tony's side and stretched out her legs on the bed. She put on of her legs on top of Tony's. They laid there for a second in silence.

"Thank you Ziva." Tony whispered in her ear. Ziva sighed contently. She could smell Tony's familiar scent. It was soothing.

"Sure Tony." Ziva whispered back. Tony slowly draped one arm over Ziva's waist and pulled her in closer to him. They had to share what little space the bed had to offer. Ziva wrapped her arms around Tony and dug her face into his chest. She fell asleep to the steady beating of his heart. It was a short sleep, but one of the best ones they had gotten in months.

The End.
