Saved

"To all ye who believe ye cannot be saved by the Light, I bid thee, heed my words, so that ye may find salvation."

It was so unfair, really. Medivh, son of the mage Nilas Aran and the Guardian Aegwynn, reduced to a comatose state...or near comatose. Sometimes, he would hear words. Sometimes, he could sense Lothar and/or Llane by his bedside, even if such visits were becoming less common as their duties as knight and prince took precedence. But why now, in one of his rare returns to the waking world, did he have to hear a bloody sermon be given by one of the clerics of Northshire Abby?

"And the Maker, God, amongst the angels of the Light...

Oh yes, and they were interjecting the one god theory into all this.

Why he, a mage, was brought here, Medivh didn't know. He didn't wish to impose on his friends, but surely Stormwind Keep could have made room for him? Surely he could find more refuge here from his visions of the fiery beast he saw in his visions, not in a church of those who frowned upon the use of magic for...some reason. Be it Dalaran in the north or Azeroth in the south, it seemed there was no escape from the Light's bigotry.

"But have no fear! The Light and the Maker are forgiving beings, and-...

And there was clearly no escape from the cleric's words either.

Medivh felt his mind slimming. Back into the abyss. Back into the fire, and the visions of the Dark Titan. What his mother had wrought, in her arrogance, he'd spent over twenty years paying for. As irritating as the cleric's words were, they were as nothing compared to what lay within his mind. What lay within his soul.

"And your soul may yet find salvation, should you follow the Light's tenants...

If his soul still existed...

"Cross over, my children! Cross over into the Light! All can be saved by..."

And wasn't that ironic, Medivh reflected, as he slipped back into his coma. Hearing those words...those lies.

Not everyone could be saved. He knew that.

And as the Guardian's mind was dragged back into his body, Sargeras knew that as well.
