I JUST HAD A BRAINFLASH! (. . . Jimmy Neutron: BRAIN BLAST! . . . no.)

Anyway, I was cussing out Amazon and almost broke down crying when I found out the Son of Neptune STILL HASN'T COME (it was SUPPOSED to be here by YESTERDAY, you f***ing idiots . . .), when a sudden thought occurred to me . . .

More of a one-shot, since it's too long to be a drabble, but yeah. Enjoy!

"Percy?"

The speaker's voice rang loud and clear; it made Percy shudder a little, though he didn't know why. It sounded so familiar . . . something he should know. (But that really isn't saying much; he's had that feeling for a lot of things.) He almost remembered who's voice it was without having to turn around, but the memory slipped away like sand through his fingers.

So instead of trying to guess, he turned around to see . . .

"Annabeth."

She took a step back, and Percy could've sworn that her eyes were shining a little, like there was a tear wanting to come out; but it went away just as fast.

"You . . . " she started. "You idiot! We haven't seen you for months! I . . . we thought we lost you."

"Sorry," he mumbled, though it wasn't exactly his fault. "I don't really remember much . . . about who 'we' is when you say . . . how I got lost . . . how I forgot . . . but I remember you. Kind of."

Annabeth faltered a little, and Percy wondered if he said something wrong. She turned her back to him, her hair flinging around. The action made him notice something.

"We . . . match," he muttered. He had the barest hint of a smile on his face. She turned her head at his words.

". . . what?" she said.

"We match." He emphasized the word 'match,' walking towards her. He lifted a hand to his hair and pulled out a small gray streak; one that looks like it's been there for a while, and is fading away, leaving behind only a bit still colored. Annabeth's eyes widened a little, and Percy took the time to lift the little tuft of gray she had.

Percy had the faintest feeling; one of sadness and anguish, and a little pain and jealousy. A lot of pain, actually, but physically, not . . . emotionally. The memory faded away again.

Annabeth had to smile a little at the familiar words.

". . . yeah," she finally said softly, lifting a hand to his. "We match."

I can NOT believe I hadn't thought of THIS scenario yet! Now, I haven't read the entire book yet (F*** YOU, AMAZON!) but I've had enough people spoil it for me to know that it did NOT go like this. But . . . it's FAN FICTION, so . . . I think it's fine, right? It's more of a, "I wish this could happen," thing, but yeah.

I hope this didn't suck; this just came to mind randomly when I was thinking about Percy, and how much Amazon SUCKS right now, and wrote this in about 10 minutes (about 30 less than how much I'd usually take for details and stuff [if I have to], lol). Enjoy!

Peace, Love, and PERCY JACKSON
