Brent Langer can't help smiling as he exits the elevator and heads towards his vehicle. He's feeling rather pleased with himself for being able to push through the walls that surround Gibbs and the team, making them realize that they had given up hope on getting Tim McGee back. He can hear footsteps behind him, and turns just as a hand connects with the back of his head.

"Gee thanks Gibbs, what the Hell was that for?"

"You kicked me in the ass, woke me up."

Brent blinks, "I woke you up and it warranted a headslap?"

Gibbs nods, "For not calling me out on it sooner. Meet at my place in an hour, bring your go bag."

Gibbs enters his truck and drives off, leaving a wondering Langer behind.

He doesn't wonder for long as he watches Ducky, Tony and Ziva all pull out of the Yard, and he hastens to his own vehicle. He puts the key in the ignition and pulls out his cell phone. There's a text message from Fornell demanding a situation report. He sighs and sends Fornell the current situation as he knows it. Two seconds later the phone rings and he picks it up, "Yeah, we're all heading over to Gibbs house apparently planning on how to get McMissing back into the fold."

"Took him long enough, what'd you do, kick him in the ass?"

Langer smiles at the sarcasm in Tobias Fornell's voice. "Figuratively speaking yes."

"Good, keep me updated and Langer?"

"Yes?"

"Still have an opening here for you if McGee decides to return to Gibbs team."

Langer sighs and thanks him, privately hoping that he can stay on Gibbs' team for a few more weeks if not months. He has no issues with Fornell, but he knows that he can learn a lot from Gibbs if he's given the chance. He starts the car and drives to Gibbs house. To his surprise Gibbs is the only one there.

"Boss?"

"In the kitchen, the others are picking up food and drinks as well as clothes for tomorrow."

Langer accepts the beer handed to him and uncaps it, thoughtfully.

"What's on your mind?"

"Just wondering why it took you this long to realize that you need McGee on the team?"

NCIS-SG1

Tim sighs and continues reading the screen in front of him. Sam glances over at him and smiles when she sees the section he's on.

"Hey, that's really good work Tim. Let's take a breather for now."

Tim looks over at her, "Are you sure, I mean, what about the training?"

"You've been slogging away at the computer for two solid days. Come on and let's have some fun."

Tim scoots his chair back and rubs his eyes. As he glances down at the computer screen before saving his progress he freezes and Sam stops to see what he's looking at. Tim's currently reviewing the files on the known system lords.

"I need to talk to Daniel." Tim states and rushes out of the room.

Sam pulls up the file that Tim was looking at, and nods as she follows Tim.

Daniel and Jack are working out in the gym. Jack glances at the door just as Daniel hits him with a right cross. Jack grunts at the impact, "Nice one, quit holding back."

Daniel rolls his eyes, saying nothing. He's never been a pugilist, preferring books to physical activities. He can see something is disturbing his brother and slips out of the ring, putting a hand on Tim's arm.

"What's up?"

"I think I know what or who the system lord at NCIS is."

That has all three male members of SG-1's attention and they gather round him. Sam enters the room and Jack motions her forward. She comes closer to the men just as Tim blurts out,

"I think that Director Shepherd is the reincarnation of the Egyptian Goddess Nephthys. She's not one that you have listed as a system lord, but she was the mother of Anubis."

Daniel inhales sharply and Jack looks at him with concern. The archeologist says nothing as he dashes to the closest computer and runs a search. He nods as he finishes reading the information. Turning to the others he says,

"Tim's right, it could definitely be Nephthys, the Funerary Goddess. She was best known for protecting kings, using a breath weapon. While she excelled at death, decay and darkness, she was also known for her healing powers. That could explain why Gibbs recovered from the blast so quickly, with minor injuries and a coma. She could have been trying to manipulate him, but his own internal protection kept her from doing so."

Teal'c frowns, and the others look at him. "I have never heard of anyone being able to resist a system lord for any length of time. He must have some previous interaction that has given him this protection."

Tim thinks about all that he's learned over the past five years. "Gibbs was overseas as a marine, could someone there have done something? Or, no that's silly thinking McGee."

Before Tim can blink all the members of SG-1 are staring at him, silently encouraging him to continue. He takes a deep breath and shakes his head.

"I-it's silly, it can't possibly be true. I mean, can there be Jaffa on Earth without you knowing it?"
