A/N: Yeah, yeah I know this is incest and it's a little disturbing but I kind of like the JamesIIRose pairing when it's unrequited. I have a bit of a soft spot for the idea of James falling in love with Rose.

Disclaimer: I don't have billions of dollars so therefore I am not J.K. Rowling and do not own the Harry Potter series.

I'm not going to lie, it came as a shock to me when I caught Rose and Scorpius kissing in the Quidditch shed at the Burrow. Oh, it wasn't seeing them together that came as a shock (because hadn't we all been secretly expecting that) no it was my reaction to catching them together that shocked me. I was jealous...of Scorpius.

I know it's sick and twisted but I realized at that moment that maybe I loved my cousin a little more than I should. I had always picked on her more than I picked on anyone else and isn't that what all boys do when they like a girl?

I guess I had been fighting it for years without thinking about what I was doing. How many times had I caught myself staring at her? When she laughed really hard at something a boy said to her I always compared it to how hard she laughed at all my jokes. And when she smiled I felt my world quake. My world had revolved around her for so long and I'd never even noticed it until now.

There's no ignoring it now, not with my vision blurring green with jealousy as I watch them together. They haven't even noticed I walked in, they're so focused on each other. Scorpius' lips hungrily meet Rose's as his hands pull her close to him. Rose meets his lips with the same passion as she winds her fingers through his blonde locks. It's too painful for me to watch any longer but I can't seem to stop.

Then Lily bounds into the shed. She sees Scorpius and Rose, shrugs, then looks at me and sees the pain in my eyes. I know she understands immediately by the look of sympathy she flashes me. She inclines her head out the door telling me to leave, she'll break them apart. I have never been more grateful for my little sister.

Dinner is ready (that's what I had been going to tell Rose and Scorpius when I found them) but I don't feel like eating right now so I wander off and sit behind my grandpa's tool shed. Hopefully Lily will make up some excuse for why I'm not at the dinner table and nobody will come looking for me.

Unfortunately, I realize I have the worst luck in the world as the smell of a rose scented perfume surrounds me and Rose sits down next to me.

"What's bugging you, my dear cousin?" she asks me, a concerned look on her face.

I just shake my head.

"You know you can tell me anything, James, you know that, don't you?"

"I can't tell you this," I mumble.

"Is it girl problems?" she says, a mischievous smile curving its way onto her face as she sees the truth of her question on my face. "Whoever it is I'm sure that she's already madly in love with you and just can't wait for you to ask her out because you're James Potter, the hottie of Hogwarts. Now come eat, Mr. Hottie, because the food isn't going to be there much longer with the way our cousins eat."

Rose stands up and walks around the edge of the shed, out of sight, leaving me with the choice to follow her or not.

I stand up, knowing that the choice to follow or not never really was a choice, I would follow Rose wherever.

"You're wrong, Rosie (that's got to be a first)," I let out a humorless laugh. "The girl I love can never be madly in love with me, no matter how much I wish she could be."
