Devil Wouldn't Recognize You
Red finish, pale ivory face plates, goatee, he was the vision of evil.
It wasn't a surprise he was a Decepticon. No one had to look for his insignia logo to know which side he pledged his allegiance to. Everything about him contradicted the goodness in the universe, and he laid a path of ruin in his midst. He'd say anything; say a thousand empty promises to get what he wanted, even if it included stepping on others or breaking the hearts of femmes.
He was a Decepticon. The one thing she was born to hate for all her life. Yet the last time they were with their comrades and they faced each other… she couldn't help but feel the spot on her hand where he touched her still feel warm, even though they were apart. Primus himself could tell her she must dismiss these thoughts on the Decepticon, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't help but feel more and more enraptured by him.
He was the scum of scum, how could she even think of those thoughts on a bot like him? She should be nailing bullets into his self-proclaimed mighty finish, not make merry and small chat with him. She should be kicking herself for even fighting over such a simple matter. There wouldn't have been a second thought; it would have been over before it even began.
Somehow, she saw through his disguise. She knew the bravado and the smirks were only for show. With such boldness and how daring he was, when she looked into his ruby optics, she was surprised to see that they looked so… sad. He covered himself with the sly smiles, and left behind a trail of bullets and explosions for effect. Maybe she wasn't pondering on the 'Con's flashy exterior and the snubs when he showed off. Maybe she pondered on that side of him, a side that no one saw… including himself. She wanted to stop thinking about him, purge him out of her mind. Perhaps the reason why she couldn't get him out of her mind was because he was suffering. Perhaps… she even felt sorry for him, since no one saw what she could see.
For a mech who had intentions that weren't so pure, she was sure no one would recognize what was really flickering in his spark. It wasn't Decepticon-like.
Not at all.

I was inspired by Taipan Kiryu's "What Makes You Tick", and then I started to write this. And that remark about Knock Out's user name, "HandsomeRedDevil" got me thinking of a certain song. ;) I thank Taipan Kiryu for her inspiration.
Song: Devil Wouldn't Recognize You – Madonna
