It felt good to relax after all the moving and running they'd been doing, Kurt thought as he and Blaine woke up from their nap. He didn't understand how he could be so relaxed when he knew Sebastian was after them. Perhaps because he had Blaine. His presence was enough for Kurt to take a deep breath and not worry about anything. His dad would have loved Blaine, even if he hadn't known that Kurt liked men.

"Are you hungry?" Blaine asked from the couch.

"Surprisingly no," Kurt answered as he walked over to the window and looked outside at the "Wanted" billboard of them across the street. "We're still being wanted."

"What's the reward?"

"Ten years," Kurt replied before walking back to the couch and sitting down. Blaine immediately pressed himself against him and Kurt's arm wrapped his arms around him.

"That's insulting," Blaine commented as he closed his eyes.

Kurt smiled despite finding it hard to believe that Blaine was so calm about their situation. The billboard had only brought back his paranoia with time back. The relaxed feeling from a moment ago was long gone.

Blaine's voice broke his train of thought. "If they catch us," he whispered, "there's no way that they won't kill us, is there?"

Blaine didn't sound scared but rather accepting. Kurt knew that whatever chance they had at a pardon was long gone. Why would the government choose to keep two time criminals alive? They would have their time taken away in an instant without a trial. They might have a lot of time, but they were still only human and could be killed very easily.

"Do you regret this?"

Blaine remained quiet before stating, "You saved my life."

That was not the answer Kurt had expected. It still fascinated him how Blaine was so different from everyone else in New Greenich. He was another Jesse St. James; opening his eyes to the truth about their world.

He was suddenly starting to believe that perhaps he wasn't the only one who had fallen for the other. It hurt thinking that he had only wanted to get close to Blaine in the first place to get revenge for his father's death. And it made him wonder if he would ever tell Blaine this. Or if they would ever have the chance to talk about that night. He didn't think Blaine hated him for stealing him away now considering how much he was willing to help take time and give it away. Maybe one day they would have a chance to talk about these things.

Kurt shook his head, slightly confused by Blaine's answer. "When?"

There was another pause.

"Now," Blaine breathed out closing his eyes. "And every day since I met you."

Kurt couldn't help the smile on his face. He wanted to tell Blaine that he had also saved him. He truly had been in a bad place, yet he felt at ease when Blaine was with him. Instead he said, "You forget I almost got you killed a few times, too."

Blaine turned around to face him. "Well, I'm willing to overlook that," he said fondly, rolling his eyes before smiling up at him.

Kurt smiled back before taking Blaine's face in his hands and pulled him in for a kiss. The kiss was gentle compared to the other ones which had always had some desperation in it. Just as he was thinking that he could stay like this forever the front door was smashed open.

Kurt instantly moved to where he'd left his guns on the lamp table next to the sofa across from them, but not fast enough as the men holding guns quickly pushed him against the wall. When he looked over to see Blaine he saw Karofsky taking a seat next to him. All he could do was watch since Azimio had him against the wall with a gun to his face. While the two other men stood behind him ready to shoot him.

Karofsky grinned at Blaine, wrapping an arm around him. Blaine tried to pry his hands off, but knew he couldn't do much as Karofsky and his men had the upper hand on the two of them.

"It's the poor little rich boy. I never got a chance to, uh, properly thank you for your time," Karofsky spoke as he pressed himself closer than necessary to Blaine. Kurt saw Blaine sit there motionless and hated that he wasn't able to do anything to stop it. "I'm not surprised you stayed," Karofsky continued, "It's the life, isn't it? Here we don't stop living until we're actually dead."

"There are a lot more ways to die around here," Blaine said darkly making eye contact with Karofsky.

Karofsky smirked before grabbing Blaine by the hair and pulling him up. Blaine surprisingly did not cry out, but simply gasped. Kurt remained quiet and a moment later Azimio was pulling him towards the round table a few feet away. Azimio sat him down and Kurt watched Karofsky push Blaine down on a chair.

Azimio and one of the other men stood on the left and right side of Kurt, pointing their guns at him. The other man in the room went to stand behind by Karofsky.

On top of everything he was currently dealing with Kurt hadn't thought that he'd need to add Karofsky to the list. He thought he'd seen the last of him when he'd saved Jesse, but he should have known better. Once again he wanted to kick himself for being so careless about the situation. He'd let himself believe they were safe for at least a few moments. He knew he couldn't panic. He had to stay calm in order to think of a way out.

"Of course it's your friend I'm most happy to run into again," Karofsky said with a grin to Blaine before turning to face Kurt. "You've been causing a lot of trouble, which is normally my job. Don't you understand, the reason Timekeepers leave me alone is cause I have boundaries. I steal from my own people. You're sure things are bad when I have to restore order."

Out of the corner of his eye, Kurt saw Blaine giving Karofsky a dark look. Karofsky still had the same grin on his face as he handed his gun to the man behind him.

"Fortunately for you, I don't like to kill men in cold blood. I'd do it," as he spoke the man behind him helped him remove his coat and suit jacket, "but, uh, I prefer not to." He slid up the right sleeve of his dressing shirt. "I think you deserve a fighting chance," he said he before extended his right hand for Kurt to take.

Blaine looked with wide eyes between the two.

"We play til zero."

Kurt stared back at Karofsky's hungry eyes, already imagining the amount of time he'd be gaining once he took his and Blaine's and then proceeded to collect the reward for catching them.

"What's the point?" Kurt asked. "I lose I die. I win, they kill me."

Karofsky sighed frustrated as he leaned forward, "If you don't fight, I'll kill you now."

Although he already knew the answer, Kurt had to ask, "What about him?"

Karofsky stared at him before answering, "After I take you, I'll take him." He attempted to cares Blaine's cheek, but Blaine quickly swatted his hand away with a glare.

Karofsky leered at him, "Oh yeah, and his time." He smiled widely at Kurt. "And then I'll collect my reward for making everything right in the world."

Kurt glanced over to Blaine who was looking at him with scared, wide eyes. When they made eye contact Blaine shook his head. Kurt turned back to Karofsky. He was doing this for Blaine. He was going to save Blaine; an idea already forming in his head if things came to worst.

He pulled up both of the sleeves on his shirt before placing his right hand on the table and extending it to Karofsky. From his left he heard Blaine gasp loudly.

Karofsky gripped his right hand tightly, swerving it and placing it underneath his own. Immediately, Kurt felt his time start to transfer over to Karofsky. Kurt's attempts to turn over their hands were in vain as Karofsky's grip was strong. For a brief moment Karofsky let him begin to turn over their hands before twisting his arm underneath his harder. Kurt knew seconds had barely passed, but already he knew he was down to less than a month despite the two hundred years he'd been carrying.

It was then that his timer slowed down, as it reached twenty seconds. Kurt could hear Blaine's heavy breathing and was sure that his eyes were glued to his timer.

Karofsky had not broken eye contact the entire time. Yet Kurt knew that he could hear the last of his seconds being passed over to him. And sure enough, like every other person Kurt had fought, he couldn't resist to look down at Kurt's timer. That's when Kurt made his move and in a swift motion he turned over their hands so that his hand was on top of Karofsky's hand. He could feel Karofsky trying to flip over their hands, but he'd used up all of his energy in the beginning trying to keep Kurt down.

Everyone's attention on the room was on them. Blaine leaned forward to look at Karofsky's timer as did the three other men.

This was the second moment Kurt had been waiting for as he kept a tight grip on Karofsky's hand, with his left he retrieved the gun attached to the bottom of his left foot. Quickly, he shot Azimio and the other men behind him. Before the other men behind Karofsky could react Kurt quickly shot him in the chest.

Kurt then pointed the gun at Karofsky who stared at him with wide eyes before looking down at his timer.

Five, four, three...

Kurt knew he should have let go then, but he didn't. Karofsky's body gave a jolt and Kurt released his hand. The jolt threw Karofsky back and he fell to the ground dead.

Kurt finally breathed as he stared at Karofsky's body and then the rest. He turned to Blaine, the surprised look in his face immediately turned to relief. Kurt got up, reached for his hand and the two left the room.

Sebastian, along with Nick and Jeff behind him, stood outside the hotel an hour later. He stared at the dead bodies lined up on the street. Karofsky had wreaked havoc in Timezone 12 for so long and now someone had finally put a stop to him. Sebastian just couldn't believe that the person do it was none other than Kurt Hummel.

The hotel had been searched already and there were no signs of Kurt or Blaine. The two left quickly, but had still managed to take all of the time they'd been stealing from the time banks.

"All the time he's taken," Sebastian thought out loud to himself.

"Don't you mean the time he's given away, sir?" countered Nick. "Even to you?" he added in a low voice.

If Sebastian wasn't so desperate to catch Kurt (not that he would ever admit that) he would have kicked Nick off his team in a heart beat. But Nick was good at his job (again not that he would admit that); he picked up on the small details that everyone else overlooked.

Sebastian turned around before walking over to Nick who never once looked away. Sebastian got close to him as he could. "I have given fifty years of my life to this job, I am not about to see those years go to waste," he informed Nick.

Sebastian prided himself in upholding the system. It was his life, without it he'd be dead.

Nick looked as though he wanted to say something, but instead opted for holding back his tongue. Sebastian didn't want to argue or hear Nick anymore so added, "Go on."

After a moment Nick looked over to Jeff, who nodded at Sebastian before following Nick over to their police car.

Sebastian stared at the dead bodies in front of him before turning to face the crowd standing on the sideline watching him. Just more evidence of Hummel's actions. The people in Timezone 12 actually had time to linger around.

"I'm sorry to be the one to breaks this to you, by tomorrow you won't have time to stand around," he announced before he left the scene.

Kurt led Blaine to the downtown area of Timezone 12, where they hid in the rooftop of a building. They would have to wait the night before they could go back to his old apartment and come up with a new plan.

Blaine collapsed on a block of cement as he caught his breath. Kurt moved past him to the edge of the rooftop and looked down. An Anderson's Timelender bank was below them and he watched as the rate shown went up from 33% to 38% as did the prices on the store next to it.

"Damn it," Kurt cursed as he moved back and went over to where Blaine was.

Prices going up was something Kurt had not thought of. The highest interest rate Timezone 12 had had in the past was 15% and now it was more than double that. The time Blaine and him had been given away wasn't making a difference if the people of Lima had to pay more now for their living. He thought he was doing a good for his people, but instead he was making things worse. If it wasn't for the fact that the people needed the time to survive he was sure they wouldn't be taking it anymore.

Kurt sighed. "It's over. We lost. We're not doing it again."

"At least we're trying."

"No, you don't understand. All they have to do is keep raising the cost of living. A hundred years, two, a thousand. It does nothing!" Kurt had to stop himself from yelling.

"So what? We just stop fighting?" Blaine challenged back.

"We can't win. We can't hurt them. The time we're taking makes no damn difference!"

"What would? What would hurt them?" Blaine demanded.

"A million years," Kurt stated. "You got a million years on you?"

Blaine stared at him before finally looking away. "I guess it really would take a million years."

Kurt wasn't even sure if one million years would make a difference, but it was all he could think of at the moment. How did you break a timebased system? None of the history lessons had taught him something he could use. What good were protests and revolutions when what people needed was time to survive. But a million years, that was a lot. One year for one million people or a month for twelve million. Those were big numbers, numbers that could probably help bring change.

"Let's give up," Blaine finally agreed.

"Maybe not," Kurt said after a long moment of silence.

He'd changed his mind. Now that he thought about it more he realized they could probably do it.

They needed a plan though to go on however. They went back to Kurt's apartment in the morning.

"If there is anyone in the state with one million years it would have to be my dad," Blaine commented as they rounded up the remaining TimeHolders.

"It's a chance I'm willing to take," Kurt said.

Blaine had cleared out his bank account a few days after their first break in. Both we're surprised to find out that Blaine's account hadn't been closed or frozen. However, it was not enough and they had to break into another timelending bank, this time in Timezone 5 as it would not be expected there.

Finally, after a week of keeping low and finalizing the last details to their plan they made their move.

It was not easy and they knew that they were risking it all, but they went forth with it.

They sneaked back into New Greenich early in the morning. They sat in the back of the car which had brought them. They were behind an alley with a few minutes to spare before they had to separate.

"What if we don't make it out alive?" Blaine asked.

"Don't say that," Kurt shushed him before kissing him deeply.

He constantly had to keep reminding himself that their plan would work or else he would call it off and decide to just run away with Blaine. They'd find a small town and they had enough time to not worry about anything.

"This will work," Kurt said pulling back. It just had to.

"I love you," Blaine whispered before pulling him in for a tight hug.

Kurt took a deep breath and lost himself in Blaine's embrace. "I love you, too."

Blaine held for a second longer than he should have to Kurt's hand before letting go. He didn't dare glance back as he made his way into the building they'd bought out just a few minutes ago. Kurt had demanded that all forms of security be disabled shortly after his father was due to arrive. The people in New Greenich while not supportive of them were also not going to say no a thousand years. They'd paid all of his father's employees. The more "loyal" ones had asked for more. In the end they managed, even if it resulted with both them only being left with less than eight hours. However, if the plan went as planned they would reach the abandoned factory at the edge of Timezone 12 with an hour to spare.

He gripped the gun tightly. He wasn't going to use it this time, or at least he hoped not. He watched from the side of the building as a black car pulled up in front of the building and ten guards flocked it. He breathed a sigh of relief as he spotted Kurt among them, black shades covering his face.

Then he saw his father for the first time in a month, shockingly he looked slightly older despite his young appearance. Which prompted him to think about his mother and how she was. Blaine had always been closer to him, despite spending a lot of time with his father. But because of that he knew the kind of man he was and felt no regret for what he was about to do.

Blaine saw Thad look around before motioning to the other guards to move. The guards circled around his father and they all entered the building. His father and his guards were climbing the stairs when he stepped out and made his presence known.

Of course, Thad was the first one to spot him. Immediately he raised his gun before shouting, "Stop!"

The other guards quickly turned around and noticing the gun in his hand raised theirs guns while still keeping his father hidden from view.

"I'm Blaine Anderson," he said in a clear loud voice. A few of the guards looked confused as they glanced at his father. "I want to surrender... but only to my father."

It took a few seconds, but then his father was pushing aside the guards to face him. He motioned for the ones next to him to lower their guns. "Blaine."

Blaine took a deep breath as he put down his gun on the floor and raised his hands in front of him. "Hello, dad."

Blaine took a step before Thad raised his gun higher, "Stay where you are!"

Blaine smiled at him before nodding and looking at the rest of the guards. "You've hired more guards since the last time I saw you."

"Thanks to you I need them," his father replied darkly.

"One too many."

Kurt made his move as he pressed his gun to his father's head. Instantly, the other guards turned around, pointing their guns at him.

"Guns down!" Kurt announced.

His father could only stare at Blaine scared. Blaine almost wanted to laugh at his dad. He'd lived his whole life protected and here he was at his and Kurt's mercy.

"Now!" Kurt shouted pressing the gun more to his father's head.

Mr. Anderson quickly faced the other guards. "Do it," he commanded, his voice shaking with fear.

The guards slowly lowered their guns and placed them on the ground while Blaine bent down to pick his own up. He pointed his own gun at his father as he took a few steps forward.

"Let's go for a ride," Kurt said into Mr. Anderson's ear as he pulled him back.

"Remember, anyone gets in our way and we won't hesitate to shoot," Blaine said to the guards who stood there looking at them.

Blaine caught up with Kurt who was heading towards the elevators with his father in front.

As Blaine typed in the access code to the elevators, his father asked him something Kurt had asked him a few weeks ago.

"You'd steal from your own father?"

Blaine looked at his father before giving the same answer he'd given to Kurt, "Is it stealing if it's already stolen?"

The elevator door opened and the three stepped inside. His father only glared at him and Kurt as Blaine pushed the button for the top floor, where his father's office and safe were located.

AN: Hi lovely people, I am happy to announce that I'm back! Also, this story has only one chapter left (and maybe a prologue?) before it is complete. Which will be amazing because then I will be able to focus on "Bleeding Love" and "Time and Space" only. I've also been considering writing more for "Someone Like You" but that one is still on hold at the moment, sorry. And a million times sorry for the long absence last year. School got in the way and although I'm still in school and will have more things to do this year, I will actually be taking time to write more.
A big hug to anyone who is still following this story and please review if you can, I'd appreciate it very much. Thank you.
