Start of Something New

It was a lost earing that led Ziva delving under the bed in her and Tony's shared bedroom. She found not an earring but a bag. In the bag was a baby's onesie which said Ninja kid on the front. Ziva studied the object. She was confused, she was neither pregnant nor were they trying. They had talked about children but both decided to wait as Tony was not quite ready.

"Tony," Ziva called as she walked into the hallway which led into the lounge. Tony was watching TV.

"Yes, sweetcheeks," he uttered as he took another sip of soda. Ziva moved in front of him holding up what she had found.

"Do you know something, I do not?" she asked as she sat next to him. He turned off the sports channel and shook his head. "I thought you were not ready,"

"I couldn't stop myself from buying it," Tony admitted. "Maybe, it's a sign,"

"Maybe," Ziva responded. She was not sure. "I do not know, maybe we could try,"

"Yeah," Tony said.

"I mean I could see my doctor and talk to her," Ziva continued, "I could go off birth control and get some vitamins" Ziva paused she looked at Tony, "Do you honestly want children?"

"Yes," Tony replied. He took both her hands. "I'm still a little scared but I have a feeling all parents are, it's normal,"

"I am a little scared too," Ziva uttered.

"But think by next Christmas or maybe the Christmas after, we could have more than just our stockings up," Tony told her. A smile crossed Ziva's face as she thought about them with a child, another member of their family. "And we'll have fun trying,"

"Would you like to practice now?" Ziva asked him as she got up. Tony followed her.
