Maura got to work earlier than anyone else did this morning. It was two days before Christmas and she had something to accomplish and was determined to get it done.
Putting away her step ladder, the ME got back to the victim she had started the night previous. All that needed to be done was the paper work on the injuries. There was a wound that indicated that could be the murder weapon and Maura had already sent someone out to look for it.
Jane was having an odd day. First it was Korsak. He walked around his desk and out of nowhere and kissed the top of Jane's head as he walked toward the elevators. Jane turned in her chair and furrowed her brows.
"What the hell?"
The broad man shrugged, followed by a hearty chuckle. "What?"
The next was a uniform that randomly gave Jane a kiss at her desk after bringing her evidence from the latest crime scene (Most likely the murder weapon). And ohhh the detective just about lost it on that one.
Finally it was Frost that set her off. With a quick peck on the cheek she lost it. "My GOD! Why the hell is everyone kissing me!"
Barry just shook his head and laughed, then hauled ass before Jane kicked his ass.
Groaning, Rizzoli sat back down in her chair and put her elbows on her desk and stared down at the new evidence. Jane realized she needed to run it down to Maura, whom she didn't know was watching the last kissing encounter and was giggling quietly.
Once Jane started to turn around, the doctor had leaned down and put her hands on the chair arms, blocking her best friend's escape.
"Oh uh hey, I was just about to..." Jane started but was cut off by Maura's quiet words.
"Look up." She said simply.
Jane did as she was told and saw mistletoe hanging right above her desk on the ceiling. Looking back into hazel eyes, "That..." The ME pressed her lips to Jane's for the first time. It took a moment for the kiss to become everything both women day dreamed about since the moment they met. Pulling back slowly the brunette smirked and finished her sentence with her forehead against Maura's. "...explains so much."
