The feeling came as abruptly as the thunder had.

Shifu gasped as the inconceivable sensation spread throughout the interior of his chest, his heart feeling as if it had been ripped from its cavity by an icy fist, and an unpronounceable pain encompassed him, running through his veins and his limbs.

He felt it then. A tearing sensation, something snapping. Shifu knew at that moment, that something had gone wrong.

The red panda fell from his perch upon Master Oogway's staff, hobbling to regain his balance. The leg that Tai Lung had broken in his rampage all those years ago burned savagely, and the elderly master barely had the strength to stand.

Looking out of the cave entrance, he saw storm clouds in the distance.
