AUTHOR'S NOTE - I guess you can tell I'm on holidays. :)
This was supposed to be a witty little thing, but ended up being a sappy fluff before I knew it. There is simply no explanation. Also...this makes no sense to me. Take it as you will. I just liked the title.

ENJOY!

BREAKFAST AS JENNY'S

The soft padding of bare feet against her hardwood floor brought Jenny out of her quiet musings. She stirred the eggs and flipped the bacon before looking up and seeing her last night's bed partner leaning against the doorjamb, wearing nothing but a pair of dark green briefs. His hair was still messy from the night's activities and his eyes glazed over with sleep. She hadn't seen him like that in a long, long time.

He looked at her, smiling slightly, before looking at her stove questioningly.

"It's just eggs and bacon, Jethro. It doesn't mean anything. I'm making myself some breakfast and you are welcomed to stay," – Jenny made a pause there, busying herself with flipping the bacon again. "Or you can go and we can pretend last night never happened."

And God, did she hope he wouldn't go with the latter option.

Truth was, last night was completely unexpected, even if it was a long time coming. Jenny just assumed it would involve a big fight, a lot of Bourbon and/or one of them in a near-death experience to get them going.

Instead, all it took was a nice take out dinner and a few memories for them to lose control like a couple of hormone-ridden teenagers.

She supposed it was nice to know that it was not all about alcohol and adrenaline, but the morning after was sure to be awkward in any case.

"You should probably get those eggs away from the fire," – Gibbs's amused voice made Jenny look up.

"Huh?" – She asked, confused.

"The eggs. You'll burn them," – Gibbs repeated.

"Oh."

He watched her as she removed the pan from the stove and then debated whether to set the table for one or for two.

God, she looked beautiful in only a large cotton tee and her underwear, Gibbs thought. He realised, in the back on his mind, that the previous night should be considered a mistake, a one-off. He also realised Jenny was giving him an out.

Only, he couldn't bring himself to consider it a mistake, or to take Jenny up on her offer.

He was now sure he wanted this, whatever this was, to be a reoccurring – and permanent – fixture in their lives. And he was pretty certain Jenny wanted the same thing, if judging by the look she was giving him.

Making up his mind, Gibbs took a few steps that separated him from Jenny, reaching in the cabinet above her to take two plates.

"Just eggs and bacon, huh?" – He asked, putting the plates on the table. "I'd say it's a pretty big thing if you finally managed to cook something edible."

An outraged look and a surprised bubble of laughter the comment got him from Jenny were all the proof he needed to know they were on the same page.

And a beautiful redhead that landed on his lap and a hard kiss that landed on his lips were an added bonus he could live with.

- THE END -

I bet you wonder where I get all these silly ideas from. Well, keep on wonderin'! ;)
